Was at the dealer yesterday, I've been looking at them for a while (was actually considering getting one, got my '05 diesel Liberty instead). Not a bad little rig. Definitely car based, but it's everything the Wrangler isn't anymore--namely small and affordable. I bet they sell a ton of them. Sure the hardcore off-roaders will call them crap, like they do about everything Jeep builds that isn't a Rubicon or a CJ, but for the 90% of us who don't take their pretty new shiny rig out and try to destroy them, I think they're a good option. Reminded me of the old Suzuki's, except that they actually had very good front seat space (I'm 6'4"). It would be a great option for high school kids / young adults who can't pony out $35000 for a Wrangler.

How is the renegade for a tall person? I am 6'-1" and I am concerned about a car designed by italians...

I compared the specs of the Renegade to that of the JK and JKU. Interior dimensions are nearly identical to that of the JK. My son is 6'3" and has no trouble fitting in the Renegade either as driver or passenger.

I've owned mine four months and have over 3K miles and it has been fun, efficient, comfortable and trouble free. Zero complaints.
