I want to extend a special "Thank you" to Sandieogdave, who took me by the hand and gave me valuable training in off-roading today. We took the fire road from 79, in Banner, up around Granite Mountain and down into Anza/Borrego. Mostly Class 1, with a little Class 2 here and there. Dave gave me some great tips on how to drive, use 4LO, braking, and avoiding those nasty "clunks" when driving over rocks. In exchange for his knowledge, I taught Dave about GeoCaching, and we found nine of the ten caches that I plotted along our route. It was a very enjoyable five hours and I hope to go trailing with him again sometime.

Thanks Dave!

Very cool! Dave is a good guy for sure. Of course, we have not seen him around our events in a while but I am sure we will soon.
So another cacher Eh? Cool. I have a few sprinkled around but have been out of it for about almost 2 years now. Look up my caches, L.O.S.T.JJsKJ is my handle on geocaching.com. :D

JJsKJ,
I looked up your profile, nice picture of your KJ! I just got into GeoCaching, present stats are 43 found, 4 hidden, it's a lot of fun. My GeoCaching handle is the same as here, Starcrwzr. I think we may have hooked SandiegoDave in to it today, he had a lot of fun. I think he's already regretting buying the Magellan Navigator for his KJ and wants a handheld GPS that he can input coordinates to. I saw a lot of new territory today, that I didn't even know existed, until I started GeoCaching with a 4X4. See you out there someday!

Thanks Starcrwzr I had a great time. My first GeoCaching experience and we found all but one of the caches. I’ve read about the search and concur of geocaching but the subtle nuances of searching around cactus to find a pile of rocks where rocks are plentiful then moving a rock to look into snake holes to finally find and post your victory then trade a happy meal toy just has to be experienced. With that said I did have a great time also we traveled on a trail that I tried to travel on years ago but considered it closed because of the gate. Now I know a gate closed is just a gate to open and when it’s locked it means it’s closed. Now it’s time for our club to talk you into lifting your Liberty. Your skid plates had a real workout. A small lift would give you much more ability to get into even more remote Geocaching areas.

Sure! We give discounts to GeoCachers, so I think discounts for LOST members is OK. Just tell me you're a LOST member when you make your reservation and I'll do my best.
