hey guys, I just got back from the CB Radio shop I use all the time in Victorville. They did an outstanding job on mine. This was done on one of the Corba 75s. all in one unit. After talking a bit...on how our club uses our CB radios...They offered to do the special tune on my CB for 15 bucks. The factory sets them at 4 watts....I am not running 26 watts on my CB.

If you want the special tune up just drop by and tell them you are with the LOST KJ West Jeep club and they will dial in in for ya.

For all the guys that are not getting any range or things like that...This is by far the place to go. let me know if you ae wanting to go by and I will drop you the address. Hope the helps.

do you mean you are "now" running 26 watts? did they perform some sort of voodoo magic on it? if so count me in.

Yes, the legal limit is 4 watts, but the 'tune-up' to get that power output is small beans. The FCC mostly looks nowadays for people running outside the band, malicious jamming and things of that nature. Telling whether someone is running 4 watts on a good set-up or 40 watts on a system with some coax/antenna problems isn't easy and they don't waste their time on it. Not saying you don't have a good set-up Clint, just making a point.

Let me say it like this...We do tons of trail ride and for the guys that dont have a good tuned CB or ham radio...it sucks having to try and get in touch with them. If you have a CB...PLEASE go take the time to have it tuned right and in 100% working order.

A good shop will be able to track down any kind of problems you might have. PLEASE take the time to do it right and it will make it a heck of a lot better for everyone on the trail. Later...Clint

Clint,
Send me the phone number and address also.
My Cobra could use a little more spit.
