Just FYI guys, I am still here. I check into the site every day and always check the West site. It will always be my home. Yes I am a ways away now and seems like I have been on the run more now than ever but like I said...I still check in every single day to see whats new in the West. Things will turn around for sure and be back on track in no time. If I can do any thing to help please feel free to let me know. I just got back from a Jeep Jamboree in NJ and the wheeling is WAY different.
I say just keep runs going...set a date and see who shows up. It might take a little time but once folks start to see the pictures again of some of the cool places they are missing...they will make it out. Be sure to post the trail rating and let them know how hard are easy the trail would be for them...BUT...be sure to let them know that the trail leaders will always be there to help out. Later...Clint

I dont think there is a single rock in NJ. I did however earn my swimming merit bagde.

Yeah, but there's never any rocks!

There's a club half an hour away from me. You need to commit to one run a month and x amount a year to be considered for membership. And they're super built rigs. I work retail, I can't commit to a schedule like that. I like you guys better anyway. :D

There's a couple of local clubs here with the same rules. One even required you to wear a kind-of uniform on runs.

Life's too short for BS like that.

Pretty much. The Wine Country Rock Crawlers want you to attend at least 6 of the monthly meetings per year or they toss you. In order to be considered for membership you need to do at least 3 runs with them in a 6 month period.

They just did their annual Moab run. 14 trails in 6 days. Oh, my aching back just thinking of that tempo.

As you may know, Ive also been a member and officer of the Victor Valley 4 Wheelers for many years. Although they do a monthly "picnic" run, they are, or at least were, basically hard core, having constructed the Hammer trails in Johnson Valley. Now, though, there are more family oriented members. In fact, it's difficult to get members out to work on the hammers, or lead the runs for the event. Many don't have or even want the seriously set-up trucks, and they especially don't want the damage (me included). So, things do change.

They have a quota of meetings and runs to attend, along with compulsory attendance at the annual fund raiser "Fun In The Desert" in Johnson Valley. HOWEVER, I don't know of any instance where any of those quotas were enforced or where members were even spoken to. It's more like a goal. Maybe that's the case with these other clubs?
