Ok...here It is:

We're going to meet at the "Jawbone Canyon Store" about 15 miles from Mojave on Highway 14 at 8:30 AM (it's about 2 hours from Burbank area. This is North on the 5 fwy to Hwy 14 north to Mojave and then vere Right towards Red Rock Cyn and Dove Springs area your will pass California city on the way. If you get to Red Rock Road...turn around you passed us. Jawbone Canyon Store is on the Right side of the road you can get ice and drinks there also ...this is all on hwy 14 .

Bring:

Water (at least a gallon per person extra is ALWAYS good)

Lunch (extra food...just incase you have to spend the night)

Full tank of fuel

You'll want to bring your extra tools / tow strap /Jack ect (dont forget the lug wrench/wheel lock keys)

This is a medium trail...stock vehicles will have some trouble. Skids and bars are really helpful as this is a rocky area.

Even a lifted and armored KJ can have trouble.(I've proved this up there by getting stuck for nearly an hour needing High lift jack and much help to get off a big rock)

This trail will take most , if not all day so be prepaired with extra clothes the dessert is hot and cold major extremes up there. If you need medicine daily...bring extra just in case (contact lense, glasses ect) You'll also want to bring a flashlight to use in the Buro Schmidt tunnel (its almost a mile long...so it's dark in there !!)

It's south towards Phoenix right?
I found it on the map. I was just looking for a little more info. I like to look up places I've never been to before. It makes the trip that much more interesting if I have some history about it.

No...Not close at all...wrong place. The place they are going is out in the High Desert off of the 14. Out by the Hwy14 and the Hwy58 meet.

By the way...this is a NONSACTIONED RUN. All it means is that it is just a bunch of guys getting to gether and going on a trail ride. It is not LOST KJ West event. Later...Clint

Thanks Clint. I did find it on the map. I was playing the "just kidding" card with the Phoenix commit. I guess it back fired on me.
I'm going to head up the 15 and work my way west from there. I think J and I are going to caravan up there together.

Thanks again.

You can throw a party at the canyon ... lots to explore. There're opal mines north of the area where you can pay per-vehicle fee and go crack/collect your own fire opals. Supposed to be the best quality in southern california.

Opal Canyon, Nowak Fire Opal Mine and Barnett Opal Mine.

I'm going to drive the trail Backwards just because I'm so horned out for some dirt, excitement and a little open space.

No worries Jeff. I have all the safety issues covered. I'm CBD. certified.

Thats Certified Backwards Driver.

See ya all on Saturday.

Me too? I'm just south of Mark. Maybe I can meet Mark somewhere along the way first and drive up to meet Annette, then we can drive on up.

EDIT: Maybe KJ Willy (Kinsey J?) would like drive up on the 5 to meet me and we'll all go up so we have four Jeeps in the caravan?

OK.... Cool. This is turning into an adventure just to get there.

Whom ever is the last one to join, is in charge of the bacon and eggs. Annette, it sounds like you. Unless of course you find someone farther out then you.

Dirty, send me an e-mail. We can meet off the 91 somewhere. Then North on the 15. If we miss the 395 turn off, then it's Vegas baby!!!!

I would love to but I need my lift installed first, Plus I got duty, get to sit behind a desk for 8 hours and check ID's at the barracks. (gives me some good study time.)
