Here's a quick question... I read the safety checklist stuff, and saw the large list of things that are required for all runs. Is that basically saying that if i were to try to go on sunday, i'd have to come up with everything on that list?

Sunday, sunday, sunday? What's happening on a sunday? I think you are talking about the adopt a trail. That's Saturday the 23rd. This is an easy day for the most part. About the only things going to get a workout is, your legs and lower back from picking up trash. However, I would highly recommend, to all my friends, to carry at least the basic items at all times. Especially living in Southern California. You never know when you are going to get caught up in the elements, from our ever changing 4 seasons: Fire, Flood, Earthquake, and Drought.

If you don't have something that is on the list, and unsure of what you need, please still come up for this event. It would be a good time to look over other members' rigs, and see what we all have. I hate buying and returning stuff. Especially at X-mass. Those lines suck.

L.O.S.T KJ WEST Safety Requirements Checklist
Basic Required Equipment for Each Vehicle on All Runs
(This is a minimum requirements list)

__ Seat Belts for all Occupants

__ Full Size Spare equal to the size on the vehicle (no temporary spares
accepted)

__ Jack capable of lifting the vehicle and tool for removing lug nuts and wheel
locks

__ Fire Extinguisher with gauge/check valve indicating fully charged

__ Tow Strap or rope rated at minimum 15,000 lbs (chains are discouraged and
straps with hooks are unacceptable no exceptions)

__ Tow Attachment points FRONT and REAR with Tow hooks or receiver hitch with
shackle (tow balls are unacceptable no exception)

__ 4-wheel drive system with Hi / Lo range transfer case (unless trip description
allows 2 wheel drive)

__ Roll Bar or Hard Top

__ Functional parking brake

__ First aid kit (include what you would want when you’re hurt or in pain)

__ A valid drivers license

__ Proof of insurance

At no time will the use of firearms, alcohol or drugs be tolerated on a run
This applies to sanctioned and not sanctioned runs with no exception

Burchie's reply states it well. I don't know what you're driving, but if it's a Liberty, you should already have most of what you need.

Here's what you might not have:

A tow strap WITHOUT hooks on the end (if the strap breaks, the hooks go flying!). You wouldn't need one for this run and there will be plenty there with the rest of us. But it's a really good thing to have in any case.

Fire extinguisher. Can you think of a good reason not to have one? Vehicle fires do happen.

Tow points front and rear. Again, it's highly unlikely you'll need them for this run, but they are REALLY important. Just think, if you did get stuck, what could a strap or winch line attach to without causing damage? If you have a front and/or rear hitch, the hitch itself can be the tow point (not the ball, the receiver). If you don't have any tow points, please think seriously about getting them. I don't think I've used mine more than a few times - each run.

First Aid kit. Why not? Most of us have them. Used mine several times.

No one will be excluded from this run regardless of equipment because it's an easy trail and we'd like everyone to come who can. Please join us and do think about getting what you don't have because it's good form not to have to depend on others for your needs, like bringing your own lunch. Burchie always hates it when I ask him to share. And on some runs, your vehicle just might not qualify.
