Hi All,

Although I am from Northern California, I was wondering:
Has anyone done the Swansea- Cerro Gordo trip during 2005 in a KJ?
I have been hearing that since the rains of 2003, the route is extremely challenging.
I have been thinking about doing this trip this Labor day weekend.
Is my KJ with 31" tires, 2.5 inch Daystar lift, skid plates and limited slip diff in the rear good enough for this trip?

Anyone interested in meeting up and making the trip with multiple vehicles?

Thanks,
MikeS.

Haven't done that trip in 2005 but I know the road up from Swansea to Cerro Gordo is tougher going up. I would suggest being safe and go from Keeler up to Cerro Gordo (be sure to take a tour of a great ghosttown and bring a camera) and then go down the mountain to Swansea. There are some awesome views of the Sierra Nevadas and Owens Valley on your way down, but keep your eyes on the road. This is very close to the Saline (Death)Valley run, but I don't know whether they are taking this route out of the valley or not. Have fun!!
