I would like to start organizing a fall run to Last Chance Canyon. I am thinking Early October, weekend of the 13/14. We can do a day trip or camp over night and spend some extra time exploring.

Map of the trails:
http://www.deathvalley.com/exploring/ro ... chance.pdf

Pics & info:
http://www.myjeeprocks.com/jeeps/lastchance_07_04.php#

Please post here if you can at least pencil in the 13/14th.

I have a trail run on the 6th. the 13th and 14th are open.
It looks like there is a lot to explore, definatly worth an overnight trip.

Date is set for 13/14th. If I can get jpzkj (Jeff) to come we shouldn't need a pre-run. I think I can scround up enough info to keep us from getting too lost even though that could be fun too.

IF we get enough interest, I am thinking about doing a $$ Poker Run on this trip. :D

Would this be in place of the Mario DV trip of years past?

No, has nothing to do with the DV trip and I have not heard anything about DV.

As of right now, there has been no indication of a DV trip this year. Maybe we can squeeze one in before FITS. I'll contact Mario and see if he is interested, or we can just make it a West trip.

I was up in Last Chance Canyon about three weeks ago. It wasn't too difficult. A stock KJ should make it through OK. The highlight of the trail is the V-notch. A couple of Rubis, a slightly lifted Wrangler, and a Cherokee made it through. All had a little trouble except the Rubicons. The H1 was a show in itself to watch through there. http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b53/U ... 2ec642.flv We went to the Burro Schmidt Tunnel and the Dutch Cleanser Mine. They were pretty neat to see. Its too bad the Schmidt house got so vandalized in recent years.

Couldn't find the sharpener, so I inked it. I'm in!! Could even be up for camping, depending on the weather.

The H1 video was kinda painful......5 or 6 spotters and the driver didn't seem to be listening to any of them :P

Nice that there were a couple of those goofy ZJ's on the run , wish I could have joined them.
