I am planning on running at least 2 trails. One is the Barney Riley Trail 9/3-9/5 and the Slick Rock Trail 9/5-9/8. If there is time I'd like to maybe run through Coyote Flat or other on the way back.

Nice natural hot tub on the Barney Riley Trail (along the Carson River), beautiful scenery (slabs like the Rubicon and beautiful lakes) on the Slick Rock Trail, and maybe a little exploring on Coyote Flat (had the highest elevation airport in the US at 10,007 feet plus lakes) or some other really cool place.

I'll be leaving here Sun morning to head up 395, let me know if anyone is interested in part or all.

You could break it up into two runs 9/3-9/5 and 9/5-9/8.

I say they are moderate based on what I have read and heard from friends.

Funny this site rates it a 5 but a friend said it's been done in a close to stock vehicle.

Here's on the Slick Rock Trail.

Pretty easy trail actually except at the Utica end where there's one tough obstacle. Prolly front and rear lockers for it. Real short ride though in any case so suggest combining it with a trail like Deer Valley.

I didn't figure either is very difficult, going for the cool scenery/places. Thought about Deer Valley and Upper/Lower Blue Lakes.

If you run Slick Rock from the Utica Res side you'll come out at Alpine Lake. Make a right and go over the pass and pick up the Deer Valley trail in the Hermit Creek campground about 15 miles east. Starts with a bodacious 1 mile of rock garden followed by gorgeous meadows.

Prolly gas up in Bear Valley first though.

Good, rustic camping on the Utica trail head. Bring a trout pole and some cookin' butter.

Might join you if I knew exactly when you were going to do Slick Rock.

Also consider Strawberry Pass. The views will blow your doors off.

Planning on running it starting the 5th. I was going to run it from Alpine down but might do it the way you suggest. Just looking at it it's only about 22 miles from where the Barney Riley hits the 89 to the 88 and Blue Lakes Road. That would be running it North to South. Leaving sometime Sun (almost there).
