Post subject:	Johnson Valley report 5/24 Run
Well, kinda dissapointing turnout on this run . We ended up only having 3 rigs so we decided to kick up the level to moderate/difficult and go play on Bull Frog trail and then headed over to the Cougar Buttes area where they hold the rock crawling competitions. I can best sum up the area we were in as AWESOME! Think Mini-Moab and that is pretty much what we found. Lots of granite slabs and boulders w/ some fast dirt track running thrown in between locations. It was a beautiful day and other than a few sand buggies and couple motorcycles, we only saw signs of people at a few group camps. We pretty much had the place to ourself until the last hour of the day when a group of atv's, a rock buggy and full size truck showed up to the Cougar Buttes area as we were finishing up. IT was a great area to explore and we definately gotta get back out there again. Since it is a BLM area you can pretty much go anywhere you want and our leader Mike has gotten permisison to mark new trails so that makes it even better. Ok, enough babble, heres some pics!

That looks pretty cool! You had more fun than I did What are the odds of a KJ making it through that trail? And what's with the lack of IFS KJ action shots?

I think we could get an IFS KJ through w/out too much drama, maybe a strap here or there in the flexy spots but it would be fun. The cool thing is there are tons of spots to play and it is all open so you could just try out the spots that you are comfortable with.

Too much fun! I'll look for future runs to the same. Me, tied up Memorial wknd, promised to help with a Forest Service Road type run in Plumas County. Right now I'm watching Outdoor Channel On the Rocks, at Outer Limits at Johnson Vly.
