Monanche Meadows trail and Sherman Pass 4x4 trail in the Sequioa NF just above Ridgecrest Ca
Sounds cool! Pick a date!
So Mike?? Whatcha think?
I think that these trails are A+ rated and are rivaled by few.
I need to think on the date ---can some others put out dates you can make???
Also if interested in running these trails please weigh in so as to get a idea on how to plan. I'll send a few photos of the trails later.
The Monanche trail is mainly moderate 2WD. And a good discription of it would be like runnung the Rubicon trail in 2 WD--such a deal. It is a very worth while trail to run that winds through some of the nicest foerest anywhere. The South Fork of the Kern river runs right through the middle of the Meadow.
The Sherman Pass Jeep Trail is a moderate to moderate + as it winds through the back woods, it also reminds you of the Rubicon...only MUCH MUCH easier. Also it takes you to Sherman Peak at 9909ft. "cool". If you want rougher...don't use any bypasses!!
It seems to me any moderate built KJ would do just fine on these trails. I would suggest at least 245-75 tires and rock sliders, a lift is always a plus.. Lockers are not nessasary.
