My plan right now is to leave here NLT 5PM (closer to 4PM i hope) Tomorrow, Friday and head on up. I'll be looking for Burchie or Scott in his AT so I can find a spot for my tent and stuff so I don't have to wheel a loaded Jeep all day. Keep an eye out for me up there around 8Pm-ish.

CHANNEL 25 ON CB

Change of plans.......sheesh!

I am probably going to run in on Nine Mile Cyn road Off the 395 into a camping area somewhere. I will work my way back in as far as I can toward the meeting area. Looks like it would be easier and quicker that route than running into the lake area and up through Kernville. then again, WTH do I know? At the least, I'll see ya all at teh meeting spot Sat. or somewhere out there!!

Hey Scott, I'm going up there early Friday to scout the area out. Give me a call, and I'll let you know what I find out.

I might (or not) be able to get out a little earlier than I thought, so it will be a race! I will give you a call when we are underway to see where the good camping is, I can be reached at 626-676-4192.

Don't be looking for me. I'm not camping tonight. I'm just going to drive up there and check things out.

Ya know John I just talked with Roy - with the Kaki Unlimited- he said he was camping tonight at Kennedy Meadows. It's up the canyon 20 miles or so. It is well marked.
Vacation Mode, that the right attitude!!
He'll be in a fulsize dually PU.

you have to love motel six. They have a pool and a pond. I think the pond would be good for you.

Well I totally underestimated the time required to drive up that pass and get to where I thought the girls would have the most fun camping. We had to pull over on the pass to help a couple of guys with their truck stuck in the middle of the road, luckly I had some of Johns magical ATF fluid with me. I could only muster 25 mph up the hill. I drove the trail to Monache Meadows and made it back to the river but we didn't arrive until after 10pm and I didn't get to sleep until Mid. I enjoyed the night driving on the trail, but the girls and the dog were not impressed. Waking up a little late and about a 1.5 to 2 hour drive to get to the meet point, I definitely was going to miss the start. I started to have second thoughts about if I had enough gas to go back and do the trails, get back to camp and then down the hill the next day. So I stayed and played with the girls instead. I would definitely recommend going back to the river camps, the camping was secluded (the dog had lots of room to roam), shady and the river was right next to camp. I apologize that I left you guys wondering what happened to me. I was trying to call on the CB on my way up and I had absolutely no cel reception up in the hills. Poor planning on my part.

We missed you guys.
Yeah, we kinda got a sense of how hard it is to get cell phone reception there

That's a really cool area. We'll have to make another trip soon.

Anybody have pictures????? (I forgot my camera)

I found out that you guys waited a long time for us, I'm sorry. I just didn't think that you would wait more than 20 min or so, and I wouldn't be able to contact you to make a difference. I'm glad we got to camp back near the river, but wish I hadn't let you down.
