Yeah, how does the camping setup work there? reservations? 1st come, 1st served, Fee? What do you know Burch?

Well JJ you see...... I DON'T KNOW

I will look into it after my fantastic 3 day, 2 night stay in the mountains.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Any more details? Meeting spot for all on Saturday Morning?

I might head up on Friday too but straight into the Kernville area. I will figure that out in the coming days.

We will still be meeting at the Sherman Pass overlook at 8:30 a.m.
Time wise it's 45 mi. from Kernville - approx. an hour and a half.
Approx. 4 hours from San Bernardino.
I don't think there is cell reception up there, so figure leaving for the trail at 9:00 a.m.
my cell # 909-553-7230 in case there is.
JJ's cell 555-1212  :-)r
make sure to fill up on gas, an bring a lunch.

I'll be going up Friday night and will try and grab one of the campsites at Monache Meadows. I figure that is the easy trail so I don't think I will have a tough time if it gets dark before I arrive.

Do we have any idea on how the camping situation is going to work on Sat. night. Can I reserve a spot?

I believe the campsites near Monache are primitive, no fee, no reservation. The river is suppose to be nearby. I'm taking the Horizon trailer because all the girls will be coming up with me. I could let you know on Saturday morning about availability if you want to stay in this area. I'm not so sure about Kennedy Meadows or the camps near the Sherman Pass trail?

I'll be showing up w/ camping gear and winging it. I'm sure I can find a spot to lay my head. Not sure if I will do that on Friday or not though.....depends on who ends up going w/ me.

Cool. We'll wing it together then.
I won't be heading out until Sat. morning. If I left Friday, I wouldn't get there until midnight.

Hey guys.... I'm still a go for this adventure. Getting all my crap taken care of.

Friday night is Motel 6 in Ridgecrest.
Saturday morning I'm going to look for Horizon trailer. Then head for the meeting place.

Looking forward to seeing green. The brown landscape around her is slowly starting to drive me nuts.

Hey Scott, I'm going up there early Friday to scout the area out. Give me a call, and I'll let you know what I find out.

So how far from Black Rock Ranger Station is Sherman Summit Overlook?
(That's where we are meeting right?)
