"The Monanche trail is mainly moderate 2WD. And a good discription of it would be like running the Rubicon trail in 2 WD--such a deal. It is a very worth while trail to run that winds through some of the nicest forest anywhere. The South Fork of the Kern river runs right through the middle of the Meadow.

The Sherman Pass Jeep Trail is a moderate to moderate + as it winds through the back woods, it also reminds you of the Rubicon...only MUCH MUCH easier. Also it takes you to Sherman Peak at 9909ft. "cool". If you want rougher...don't use any bypasses!!

It seems to me any moderate built KJ would do just fine on these trails. I would suggest at least 245-75 tires and rock sliders, a lift is always a plus.. Lockers are not nessasary." Mike K.

So whatcha think folks? I really got to get to some mountains to wheel and need to see something other than Big Bear for a change.

SEPTEMBER 6th/7th it is!

Right now the dates are open as to showing up on Friday and wheeling all day Sat. or showing up Sat and wheeling all day Sunday. I could do either so whatever the masses want. (PLEASE NOTE: IF the masses want a different weekend like Labor Day weekend, Please speak up as That is also a possibility BUT it might be Much more crowded up there that weekend)

Friday or Saturday works for me.

1 no vote for Labor Day weekend. To many nut jobs out driving on the roads.

Soooo. What's the plan? Drive up Sat morning and run the trail, spend the night and come back Sunday?

So Saturday night needs to be at the end of the trail... Off the 395?
