Can I get a show of hands from all the So-Cal & So-NV folks to see if they can make it to Vegas area on December 6/7?

Wheel on the 6th, head into town for festivities and those that want to can stay over and head out on the 7th.

Depends on what time and on what day. If its the 6th (sat) I can only do a night run. 7th is anytime.

What trails are you thinking about hitting? Yeap the 6th is Saturday and that would work for my wife and me. Although after the last trip she is a little worried about rolling and thinks we are all nuts :D

Wheeler Pass would be a fun one to run at night. Nothing too technical on it unless you want to take a side trail. It's rocky and rough on the north side but once over the pass its a casual drive. It would be a good one to do if there are skittish folks along (just bumpy). From start to finish you can run it in 2 or 3 hours depending on stops and such.

If you want more time in the saddle we could run Potato Ridge from the Red Rock side (there is usually a $7 per car fee to get into Red Rock but not always) over Rocky Gap Road and down to Highway 160 then head west and do Wheeler Pass over to the 95 and then back south into town. That would take a good 7 hours round trip (about 5 hours trail time I would guess).

I really only know trails on the west side of town. Anybody know of good trails on the east side?

The 7th is better for me too, but I could make the 6th work if its better for the majority. Either way I'm down.

i might be in pittsburgh that weekend. if i can't get tickets to the cowboy-steelers game, i'll be in town. logandale trails would be a good run too. i only know the easy and fun trails, but they have hard trails too. i think they have a big run in november, if i have the time, i'll go and check it out.

go cowboys!

Yea I thought about Logandale too but if these guys are driving from SoCal that would add nearly 3 hours to their drive. If they don't mind the extra drive I'd love to do Logandale.

My wife and daughter have to be in Vegas December 6 for a Nevada Rodeo Queen event. I was going to let them make it a weekend but getting out with LOST sounds great to me. Let me know the details.

Depends on where we wheel. I see talk of North of Vegas and I thought some of the trails were closer to State line area but need to check out the map to be sure. All I need is a clean, quiet room to lay my head. I won't be gambling.

What kind of trails do you guys want to hit? Rocky Gap Road into Red Rock has some good technical areas in it but is pretty easy for the most part. Wheeler Pass is also an easy one. Both are in the south of the valley (Wheeler Pass ends north of Mount Charleston though)

Logandale has really varied terrain. From sandstone and gravel to dunes. There are motels in Overton and Logandale I think. It's were the Vegas Valley 4 Wheelers have their annual Hump and Bump. Here's a link so you can check out some of the terrain; http://www.vv4w.org/humpnbump.asp.

The Logandale area looks awesome by the pics I'm fidning But further away for everyone. Nearer to Vegas might be best for those that will want to Also visit the casinos and party as part of this trip. I am flexible on where and as long as we have fun I am ready!

The other night I was doing some work down south of Vegas and I saw a group of TJ's that had just come off the trail down in Jean, NV. Not too far from the state line. I have no clue as to what trail they had come off but they were all airing up etc. I was in a hurry so I didn't have time to stop and talk to them. Maybe there is some wheeling down there?

With my family staying in Vegas if you make the runs close to Vegas I would run both days. Otherwise I would make one of the runs a long day.

There are a few trails out by Jean. It is one of several fossil hunting places here in the valley...or at least near the valley. I will check to see if I still have directions to that area.
