I am looking for some offroad clubs out here in Vegas. I haven't found many except for ones like the Vegas Valley 4 Wheelers, which I could never meet their membership requirements. I am looking for something more forum based kind of like the Lost forum. Can someone point me in the right direction, maybe even provide links? Thanks in advance, Taz |

Best one I have found is here http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/index.php I see their stickers on trucks fairly often. I don't think I know any of them though...or at least none that I would admit too There is also...crap...I cant think of them right now. I will think about it and let you know. There is one other fairly large 4X4 group...just cant think of the name though. I'll get back to you on it |

I'm telling you we need to start a LOST in Las Vegas chapter. There are a bunch of members here in town. A lot of them are not active on the forums. We are the three most active but there is poormtnkid, doug, and 0311_DoC Maybe with a little recruitment effort we could get enough involvement to get a chapter going. |

When I was at the Hump n Bump I know there were at least 4 or 5 different Vegas clubs out there. Vegas Valley 4 Wheelers are pretty hard core wheelers, but I did meet a few from the Nevada Backroaders. They seam to be a more easy going group of wheelers. There's also the Southern Nevada FJ Cruisers. I ran a trail with them out there...great bunch of folks. |

Yea, the backroaders are a pretty laid back bunch. Their M.O. is to just get outdoors and drive some of the thousands of miles of back roads around Vegas. The FJ bunch are pretty active too. I see them lining up near my house when they are grouping to head southwest of town. VV4 Wheelers like the more technical stuff, but they also are a pretty good bunch. I have met a couple of jerks, but with a group that size you can expect that. I do like the fact that they are also active with local charities, trail cleanups and promote responsible 4 wheeling. |

Yea the Back road guys are bit laid back for my liking. I am not hardcore but I do like a challenge. Trails along the lines of Holly Cross in Colorado come to mind. I guess you could call me middle of the road when it comes to taking the TJ out. |

Why couldn't you meet the membership requirements? All it takes is that you be older than 18, own a 4 wheel drive vehicle and go on three runs. That's it. I should know. I was an officer in the club for two years and help rewrite the recent By-Laws. Anyway, here's a list of all the offroad clubs' web forums: Vegas Valley 4 Wheelers. Getting a little too hardcore for my tastes. http://www.vv4w.org/bulletin.asp Nevada Backroaders. Mostly just dirt roads, but usually interesting destinations. http://nevadabackroaders.com/phpbb3/ Two FJ clubs. Mostly newbies. Usually accommodating. http://www.702fjcrew.net/index.php? http://www.sincitywickedfjs.com/forum/ Land Cruisers Really nice bunch of people. Oldest club in town Great runs when they're not closed to members only. http://forum.ih8mud.com/nv-southern-...land-cruisers/ Toyota guys. http://www.tacomaterritory.com/forum...play.php?f=150 I didn't mention Total Karnage because they require highly modified rigs and require a deep disregard for straight body panels, or the Land Rover club because except for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters run each May, their runs are limited to Land Rovers only. |

They require you attend at least 3 meetings and 3 runs in a 3 month period, with the way I travel that is impossible. That was one of the reasons I never joined up with the Mile High Jeep Club in Denver. They did good things for the offroading community but I think I made 4 meetings and 2 runs during the 2 years I lived there. I do fine with forum based clubs as I can check in from just about anywhere I happen to be. Plus I like things fairly informal. I have found a group but so far they seem very unorganized. The folks from there that I did wheel with though, were very nice. |

In fact, the three meeting rule was really enforced. The only meeting you needed to attend was the one in which you applied for membership. Cool! Which group? That's the name? |

I did a couple of trails down in the Nelson area over the last weekend with them. Kind of funny that the guy from Colorado had to lead the trails..................lol |

Yea just a different bunch. No pictures from anyone. No posts from anyone, just nothing. I would have loved to see some of the pictures the one guy's girl friend was taking on the Gold Mine Trail, but oh well. I guess my search will continue. I'll look into VV4W........but I really don't see that as working out. |
