Good for you man, that is awesome. Dealers usually screw people but that one sounds like they might do business right.

Have fun on the Vegas trails, be safe and take loads of photos and post them.

Well I just got my answer, I will be there tomorrow. If anyone needs a seat or a ride to the meeting location let me know. Oh and I will be coming from Green Valley.

Since we have concerns about the BLM frowning upon unregistered groups in Red Rock, we have decided that it would be best to run the trail/s from the opposite direction as originally posted. Sorry for the last minute change  but I think its for the best. Here are the details. . .

Meeting time: 10am
Meeting place: The end of Cold Creek Road (location details below)
CB Channel: 25

For those staying in the Summerlin area; take the Summerln Parkway to US95 north
For those on the strip; Take I-15 to US95 north
Cold Creek Road runs between two penal institutions (and just to get it out of the way, I said penal and not penile    ). If you get to Indian Springs, you have gone too far. The road winds in for several miles and there are residences on the first part of Wheeler Road so we will meet up before we get there so that we disturb the residents as little as possible.

There are a couple of gas stations before you get to Kyle Canyon Rd if you need to stop on your way out. If needs be, we can get gas in Pahrump once we are over Wheeler Pass and headed to Mountain Springs Recreation Area.

There is a turn off near some old charcoal kilns that would be a nice spot to stop for lunch.

The rest of the details should be the same. Let me know if there are questions!

I have checked the map and it looks like I need to allow about an hour to get to the meeting spot? Does this sound about right? I will be picking my Jeep up at the storage unit which is at Grenn Valley and Sunset.

Probably a little more than an hour. Traffic isn't usually a problem on Saturdays so you can just jump on the 515/95 and head straight out towards Reno.

I was out by Trout and Lovell Canyon this morning checking on a couple of route options and the weather was wonderful! Forecast for tomorrow is for sunny skies and temps in the mid to upper 60's and not much wind. Should be a good day in the dirt! Image

We are less than a day away from the run and now is the time to ask for directions or any other questions that you might have. I will check for messages and posts later tonight when I am off of work (9-ish) and will see if I can slip into the office to check during the evening as well.

Yea it always seems to take me longer to get anywhere in this town than it should, I will give myself an extra 15 just in case.

It always depends on how fast you go :) I usually take surface streets to work and rarely go below 50 :) Ah North 5th you are my bumpy little friend.

Had a great time with you guys yesterday! Wish I could have stayed for dinner but...............oh well.

Once we get a thread I will stick up some pictures but in the mean time I have been uploading some to this album in my Photobucket account.

http://s45.photobucket.com/albums/f87/s ... 012-06-08/

Unfortunately I really didn't get any on Potato Ridge that came out except for one. I guess I had my camera set wrong, sorry.

I only have like 4 or 5 on my camera, Ed took around 50 with his though. I am just waiting for the link to his post. It was a lot of fun! Ed I think got bit by the Jeep bug as he was talking about selling his car and getting a jeep :D

How was Potato? Did you make it through with the sun still up? We past Red Rock at about 3:30 and thought about putting up a sign at the exit to RR saying WOOHOO GO L.O.S.T.!----X but was talked out of it :(

We made it through in daylight. It was twilight when we crested the summit and started the decent into RR and full dark by the time we got 3/4 of the way down. It made me wish I had a light bar! Preferably one of those steerable ones that Lucrum sells  .

It was a fun trip. I think most everyone had a good time (I don't think Steve was having a good time being stuck in low range and having to do trail repairs. At least I think it was Steve. I am really bad with names until I hang out with them a couple of times).
