Another great day on the trail. Three LOST JEEPERS met up w/ the folks from High Desert 4 Wheelers, a Lancaster/Palmdale (and beyond) local club. The weather was perfect after a day of rain and the trails were in good shape. We aired down in a lot just off the 14 fwy. and then hit the trail.
Image
The trail started by running through some hilly desert scrub areas and then proceeded into teh canyon....

The scenery inside the canyon was fascinating. Everywhere you looked you saw these cool formations.
Image

Image
And we even had to drive underneath some of them.

They surrounded us and towered over our vehicles.
Image
Image
There were a few tight squeezes througout the cyn.
Image
Image
Oh and some scraping on some spots where you got tilted Into the cyn wall. Doug got caught!
Image
Image
Wally just missed it.
Image
Big V's (Tom) full size Blazer wasn't as lucky.

There were a few ledges to negotiate, tough capturing in pics how tough they were and how tight the line was on them. A litle too far to one side and it got real tippy and loose.

And a nice blind, narrow climb that had you wondering what was on the other side. (pic from the back side)
Image
we spent the next half hour wandering through similar formations and rocky sections, none too difficult or fun to need pics. We climbed out of the cyn to find flat, open ground for lunch.
Image
After lunch we went down into the Last Chance cyn area on our way to the Burro Schmidt mine. I didn't get any pics of this area, maybe someone can fill in?
Then it was back to LCC to run it backwards. The most exciting part is always the Notch obstacle where the following pics were taken.

A few tackled it while the crowds watched.

After the excitement, it was back out of the cyn to end another great day of wheeling in the Red Rock State Park area.

Special thanks to High Desert 4 Wheelers for leading us around the area and to Doug from the Vegas LOST group for driving so far to join us.

Looking forward to the next trip! I hope to see some more LOST Jeepers out on the trail next time.

I have driven it in both my SFAKJ and XJ going the opposite direction. Due to timing and where I ended up in the group, (tough to get back to where I could enter the notch) I decided to pass this time.

Thats crazy in that narrow area. The rest YEAH it looks like I could have tackled it with the stock kk.

There were quite a few rocky sections that slowed the group down. There was a stock Mitsubishi Montero that tackled the trail. He had some tough spots to deal with but made it though unscathed. He Was on 32's though. It also looked like it had a little more wheelbase than a KJ/KK.
