Rattlesnake Canyon - Easy/Low Moderate (depending on snow levels, unknown trail conditions. Expect fairly easy going, OK for a stocker w/ Recovery points)

We will meet up at the Valero Station where the 18 & 247 meet in Lucerne at 0830, leaving at 0900 sharp.

32687 STATE HIGHWAY 18
LUCERNE VALLEY CA 92356-9372 [/url]

This run will take all day ending up in Big Bear where we will hit up a local eatery for dinner. (most likely Pizza/Italian fare) Please bring driving legal beverages and lunch for on the trail. If there is snow, we will stop to play for a bit so bring snow toys.

Post up if you have any questions or comments.
Thanks, John

I was in Apple Valley today and it was snowing pretty hard. The BB Mts had snow all the way to the foothills. Not sure what the melt-off will be by next week-end. I'll give my advice.......go till you can go no further, if you have to then turn around.
We have a foot and a half of new snow at 5000 ft. Usually the 2N02 to 3no3 Cactus Flats gets alot of traffic, so I'm sure it will be passable.

I'm not. Very rare occurance the way I understand it.

If we get there and it looks like it is going to rain hard all day or I hear that 2n02 is impassable, We will go play in JV OHV area instead. Aint no rain gonna ruin this parade for me. 8)

I guess that we are suppose to be getting alot of snow up here on Friday night, so I have to watch the road conditions to see if I can get to Lucerne. I don't own any chains.

The weather people say it's going to be nice Saturday, but the problem with snow, is it sticks around.

Kelly - What size tires do you have on my jeep. I mean the XJ? I might have a Valentine's day present for ya.

Anyone in a WK planning to go?
Also would a stock WK make it without getting any body damage?

The tire size on the XJ is 265/75/16. I've been looking for an XJ for you, but then I wouldn't have a fun passenger anymore!

I can only think of one particular spot that you might scrape on during the run and it would only be underneath on a skid plate. I am pretty sure we could get you through just fine. Now when we get to the snow, it could be a different story (still doubt there would be any body damage though).....but then we really don't know how far we are going to make it anyway so it will be a fun adventure none the less.

Come on out! I promise a fun trip!

Well I'm down in Ontario getting the Jeep serviced and it's raining, got a tad bit of snow coming down the Cajon and the ground was frozen at the house.

So maybe my son I will go for it.

I don't have a recovery strap but do have a chain.

We will have plenty of straps and shackles. Come on out. I would really like to see that big beast on the trail.
