Hi all, I was wondering if anyone here has done the Jawbone Canyon Road to Lake Isabella trip? I've looked at the route on Google earth and it looks really great so I'd like to get some first hand info on obstacles, trail difficulty etc.

Thanks in advance to all...

You guys are all planing great trips, but we / you need to think about doing these in the early fall. It just gets to darn hot out that way that time of year.

I hear you! I have sweltered through 113 degrees out there and it is less than fun. My buddy has a stock 4Runner and we are thinking mid-September to sometime in November as a window to make the trip. We've been talking about this one for years but schedules are always difficult to coordinate. Some areas up there get snow from what we saw on Google Earth (LOVE Google Earth!) so there is a chance for that the later we wait. I'd like to get info on the route so that I know my buddies stocker will make it but from what little I've heard so far it's mostly maintained dirt roads.

I hear Big Bear is the place to go in summer, and although I've never been off-roading there, I'd tend to believe it's true. I'm trying to work out my schedule so I can make the June 13th Adopt A Trail trip.

Hope to be there!
