Ok so I posted this in the other forum but here it is again. Great to see this again. I urge one and all to attend this event rain or shine to show we are committed to keeping OUR trails open. This is a great opportunity for everyone to see through the pages of the magazines. Here's a few photos (Marisha's) from last years event.

Glad to see this happening again. We missed this event last year as the weather got real ugly before hand and I will admit, it kinda scared us from making the trip out there. We also had cancelled KJ Wests participation due to some members having to travel through areas of snow and bad rain through the mountains.

I will Not let that happen again as you can see by the photos that it cleared up nicely and the work was able to be done. This is a great event that a magazine publisher is sponsoring along with several manufacturers.
KJ WEST should get out there and help. Though some of the mags represented are less than friendly to the KJ's, we should show up as a club made up of Many makes of Jeeps and show them that we are a Big part of the 4x4 and Jeep community. I have it penciled in on my calendar with plans on inking it as soon as I can confirm my schedule.

BTW, 4-Wheel Drive and Sport Utility folks should be there, and we know they dig the KJ. (more press exposure for LOST? Hmm....)

Another note, this time the event is where the High Desert Roundup event is held, Stoddard Valley. It is also where the Devils Loop trail is that we ran during our Thanksgiving event.

Make sure you check the links as the meeting place is going to be off the 15 at the Outlet Center exit instead of where we usually go. Here is a link to a form to register courtesy of Sarah at myjeeprocks.com.

This is a real close event for those up in the high desert area. Closer than last year for sure.

So is anyone else interested in heading out there to represent KJ WEST?

For those going I will be camping at the HDR area with some friends Fri and Sat nights. If you want to camp or stop by to say hi here's how you get there. Dry camping only (though I'll be bunking in a friend's motorhome).

From the Interstate 15 heading north through Barstow exit Barstow Rd/Highway 247 and turn right, drive approximately 5 miles from the 15 Frwy to Stoddard Wells Rd and turn right, follow it (stay on the main road, it will head off left up through the hills) for approximately 5 miles to the camp area in the valley over the hill. Just look for the woody. Hope to see you all there.

I'll take the silence as a No. At the rate I am going with my jeeps lately it is probably for the best that i leave them in the driveway anyhow.

I still have it penciled in.
Not 100% sure yet, though.

Might be a last minute thing, if we get out there we will look for some of the rigs that went on the new years crawl. Or if there is a better way let me know.

What do we do after a hard day's work on Saturday?

Ethnic food? Anybody know where I can get a good lutefisk?

How about an icelandic delicacy .. nice rotten shark, or maybe chilled sheep's brain. I'll even settle for Haggis, or the famous English Faggots with or without black pudding ...

Anyone care to join me?

Fish,
Just look for any KJ. Odds are good that it's going to be someone here.

Ummmm...No. Unless those things are really just strange names for a pepperoni pizza. I know they will be feeding us at the event for lunch. There is a good Italian place in Barstow called Di Napoli's Firehouse. Good food and neat little place. Popular amongst the locals.
