Ok people, here's the deal. We are going to run our trail (2n33) during the day, and that night stay at the North Shore Campgrounds. We are NOT going to be using the campground facilities, but the work station area for the SBNF. This is being provided to us as a courtesy of the AAT program. There is a large space for tents, and a big fire pit. Flush toilets are also available as well as a large gas BBQ for us to use. Pets are not permitted in this area.

We will be meeting at the Cedar Springs Dam overlook area at 9am, leaving for the trail at 9:30. I'll have a better idea of what maintenance our trail needs as the date get closer. We will be on the trail most of the day, so bring lunch, plenty of water, and even though the weather will be getting warmer, the AAT program recommends that you wear long pant, a good pair of work boots / shoes, and gloves. Plans are made to have the camping area unlocked for us to enter around 4:30, so we start heading that way around 4 or so.

As far as RVs and camper trailers, they are not allowed in the area we will camping in, but you may book a site in the general campground area at your own expense, and then join us for BBQ, and campfire fun. To reserve an RV space, please go here.

Note about trailers, tow vehicles, and RV's. The meeting area at the trail head is a considerable distance down the 173 from the campsite. So, as far as dropping off or unhooking this might be a logistical nightmare as you will have to back track to recover your trailer or tow vehicle. Or make arrangements to check into your campsite earlier that morning to drop off the RV then proceeded down the 173 to the meeting spot. Any question about this, please contact me.

We had nine club members come out to our AAT work day.Everyone really worked hard! Thanks goes to Annette, Debara, Emilie, Eddy, Mitch,Wally, Marty, Dan and Gary from the USFS. We put in 108 AAT hours for our Club, and as a reward we were treated to the campgrounds at the North Shore Work area. We were able to meet some of the other volunteers and Clubs while we stayed there. That camp area is my favorite one. We all had a great time and btw, Eddy cooks a mean steak & Annette cooks a great breakfast too! We will also be going back out to our AAT road on Friday July 2nd to write up a road maintence plan. I will post the details.
