It will probably be just me and I don't care which way we go.
Besides, Kj'rs don't need a hot spring to have a good time!

Well it looks like the DV trip is shaping up to be about 8 vehicles and 13 people or so. This is a smaller showing than last year but it opens up the possibilities for some other exploration. If we find Steel Pass to be impassable and the weather at the higher elevation to be inhospitable, then there are places out in the monument that I have never been to and would jump at the opportunity to go seek them out with the group. Who knows what special places we might find find?! A place more special than the Springs perhaps?...is that possible?...that would be way cool! :D

Do you know of any good maps online to use as reference? I like some back ground info before I road trip. I don't want to miss anything...

My favorite on-line recouce is www.expertgps.com You can download a 31 day free trial that will let you use the service. Plug in the gps coordinates I have given you in the description and you'll be able to not only see the topos but also aerial photos of the locations. Have fun!

Haven't actually checked Google Earth to see whether they have any high-res maps of the region. Might be worthwhile to work out the interesting features from above :D

I will be cruising out of town Friday eve around 11 PM with Alex in tow. Planning on crashing at the Olancha RV park.

Just talked to Mario and he said he plans to have breakfast at the Ranch House Cafe. He's very enthusiastic about the breakfast at the restaurant, so of course we naturally have to try :D I'm probably going to go with a bottle of coffee or something to tie me over.

Mmmm, haven't had pancake/waffle in a long time.
