Well, judging from the current responses and the locations of the responders...what about meeting somewhere near Raleigh? Is there anything in the Rocky Mount - Raleigh - Greenville area? Mild is fine...just thinking about a decent meeting/potential wheeling place at this point. Plus, the closer we meet to Raleigh, the more likely I can talk my brother into coming up from GA to join us!!

Manteo bomb range works too, if that's the best place! What are the logistics of getting access to it? I've been through Manteo, but didn't see the wheeling options. I'd love to hit it at some point!!!

BTW - Welcome to the LOST gang ohv_kj!!! I look forward to meeting you!

The clsoet whellin I know to the raliegh area is about 1.5 hours away at uwharrie. That is where we did the run last year and we had a blast, even though we had three rigs. We missed Mutt but ran into him back at the outpost. He was sittin there with a busted upper a-arm. That was one cool crazy guy! I would have loved to see him tryin Kodiak Rock!

That time of the year is gonna be sketchy for me, so I will wait to see what pans out as we get closer. But I hope to make it to what ever we plan out.

OHV I wouldn't mind makin a trip down to the beach on of these weekends if you wanna meet up and show me and the old lady around some places down there to have a little fun.

Mike

Just for the record, the trail that Kodak Rock is on is called Rocky Mount, and the rock itself is not pictured in your photos. That would be the sheer rock wall about 4' tall.

Your Liberty is well equipped, but it would need a winch or a strap to make it over that behemoth.

Love your photo's though... Way cool mud, rocks and grit!

You didn't miss anything. We still haven't pinned down the place. Anywhere is fine with me. As far as when, I can only go on the weekend of April 11th-13th (if the three listed options are the only options).

Richard's just happy that I'm going because we haven't seen each other in a while.

BTW, I might be needing some lift help this spring/summer Richard. Wanna help me put a Frankenlift on? :D

Hey Daniel, those rocks in the picture aren't the worst Kodak has to offer is it? Those look manageable.

OHV, would love to see what you come up with.

Tough choice for us ... gotta decide whether to stick around or go to Austin, TX :( We like the schools here. The outer banks is fantastic place. The weather, not so much  I like the folks I work with, and of course you guys ...

On the other hand Austin is so much closer to our old stomping grounds ...

Does anybody have any insights into Austin and surrounding areas? I'll ask around in the TX forum if there's one.

Cheers

Dirty: Couldent tell ya about Austin but I can say that NC is a great place to grow up. The OBX alone is a reason to stay!

Brady, I will be more than happy to help you install that lift. Just let me know when and I'll load up the tools in the back of the TJ and hustle on down.

I should be able to make this trip since i got the job in richmond. problem is, tearing my CV apart was an added expense, so I couldn't pick up the skids and rock rails I was supposed to. so just gotta be careful on rocks and stuff.

hey uvalax, great to meet you man. thanks for the help!

Uwharrie has plenty of rocks and stuff to make it worthwhile, but you know that all ready Bill.

Austin is great from what little I have seen of it... I think the weather may be even more extreme than here, though.... Not sure what you don't like about our weather, the summer or the other 4 months?

Look at it this way, your kids are all ready bilingual, move to Austin and add Mexican to the mix shouldn't be too hard. Stay here and it's only a MAYBE that they need it. :)

Jeep4me: Yeah man it was good meeting you too. Let me know if you ever need anything in Richmond. I'm always more than willing to help a fellow Jeeper out.

I talked to Dean last night and told him to get on the boards. He should be posting up tomorrow. We threw the idea around of a few places but again, club input is needed! So where do yall wanna go?

Just wanted to let you know I'm looking to take a week off from work around the same time frame as your April Fools run so I would be quite interested. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see when you guys get the date nailed down. I've never been to Uwharrie or Tellico so either of them could work for me. Hope you get the date and location set quick though so I can make plans (hotel reservations and such).

Dave, Dean and I talked about Tellico and thought that unless everyone decides differently, Tellico may be a little too much for the KJ's.

HAHAHA! I'm not conforming to that mindset!

I know what these KJ's do! Ask Dean or Daniel, I beat mine royally.
