Sounds like a good thing for us to do! But I know I will be in vegas for about a month and I leave on the 10th. Sorry.

that is exchange day for Nicholas. I would totally be up for it if it were a time with just me...

Excuses excuses, right?

Take Nic with you and give mommy one day credit? This might be a good opportunity to spend quality time doing worthwhile activity?

Come on. You guys can do it! Let's show up and volunteer our time and energy!!! Let's show up with some winches and plasma torches, or even nothing but your gloved hands!

We can do this, people.

Well Dean (Naujok) thought I could give him a hand with hauling out some heavier trash (like trailer frame). But, due to lack of space (he probably thought I had a pickup or something, not knowing the "Liberty" name drop) I won't be hauling anything heavy out. Which is kind of a shame ... I could at least try and unstuck something heavy :)

So I'll probably get a section of the river to drive close to and pick up a bunch of trash. I plan to roll down the back seats, tarp it over real well and have a field day ...

You?

PS: I emailed him the contact on C.O.R.E. and telling him maybe he could talk to them and ask for help with equipments and volunteers. At the last cleanup I attended (high desert, CA) we hauled out a serious amount of trash including entire trailer frame, spool of barbed wire (WTF?!), loads of tires and oil cans. The Inland Empire Jeepers came to the rescue with portable plasma cutter to make short work of cutting up the larger pieces :)

Nic is going back to his mom on Friday, but I won't get home until late Friday night, about 2am. So getting up first thing saturday is not high on my priority list right now...

There's a story about the cleanup effort here at the News & Observer.

In all, 241 people showed up and removed 22490 pounds of trash
