I have been to UNF on opening day, closing day, days in between, when it was raining, when it was needing rain, a few times when it was just right, but today was just.... awful.

We need rain, desperately, but that dry scree that was all over the place was almost too much. All that white powder would turn to the slickest clay sludge you can imagine, all that red stuff we drove over the slipperiest goo that stinks like a rotten barnyard...

I hope everyone had fun, Nic was OK, but ended up falling asleep on the way home (late night ahead for me I guess). I would have liked to have done another couple of difficult trails, but it's good I got him home when I did...

I have never seen the trails so packed down and flat at this time of the year. I am willing to bet that if we don't see some rainfall soon, we will see some trail closings next year...

Thanks for being patient with my son, everyone, I appreciate it.

Chase, you go on more of these runs and the rocks will get smaller, the hills not as steep, etc.

Pretty soon your "pucker factor 9" will become like shopping mall curbs :)

Hey all,
Just got back, the 4 from VA went back out and did a lot of playing and beore we new it it was dark and no one wanted to drive bck to VA, so we went and found a campground, went to wally world, bought some camping gear and camped out, turned out to be a really decent night to do it woke up to weather that was 45degrees. Some of the guys fisshed for a little while, then we went back out onto the trails.
I will post up some more info on the trails we did and pics tomorrow.
I need to go to bed and get some sleep after that 5 hour drive home.

It was great to see you again Bill and good to meet everyone else. All the ones from VA had a great time, and will be back down there to do it again.

Wow, talk about making the most out of the trip :) Glad you guys enjoyed our company. It was good meeting up with everyone again. I love this club.

Remember, OBX in the summer, camping + canoe / kayak, barbecued seafood by the shore. Life is good.

Looks like everyone had a good time. I'd love to see more picts. Wish I could have joined you guys.

The OBX trip doesn't have a date yet, but that doesn't mean we can't start planning one...new thread coming...

After the majority of the group left around 2, Those of us from VA didn't want to leave so we went back out onto the trails and stayed out there a little to late, so we went to Wally World nd got some camping stuff and camped out for the night.
This was all that stayed behind

The next day we got up and a couple of them went fishingin the lake
Image
After fishing eating and packing up we went back out wheeling, finding some places to pose and have fun
