Me and my mall crawler are going for the luxury accomodations. I'll hook up with y'all Saturday morning.

My mobile number is (919) 270-9997. I will be dragging the Eller family along behind me. Since you guys will probably get an early start, do you want to meet at the outpost, or a trailhead at some certain time?

I tired posting this earlier on my BlackJack but it seems it did not go through. The Jeep is still in the shop and will not be completed until Monday or Tuesday. Take lots of pics and I will be there next time.

Hello gang...

I made it home last night about 10:00. I enjoyed the ride, especially the afternoon "last Jeeps standing" watch-out-for-the-drunk-redneck run.

I am working on the few photos I took and I look forward to seeing everyone elses as well.

I had a ton of fun, it was great meeting and seeing all of you!

Yeah It was definitely a great time!!! Next time around I might have to pack a spare radiator fan or bring a portable shower. ( I will explain that one later) if I wanna play submarine wiht th eKJ again. But at least I got to go back and grab the quad to come meet up with yous for the afternoon run. Wonder what ever came of them drunk rednecks in the white taco??? Anyways the trails were really slick in th eafternoon after the torential downpour but Dean, Daniel and Josh faired rather well. I know between th e quad and me I was carrying around at lest 75 pounds of mud all afternoon! haha

After I was showered with the fan that night and threw it back on it seemed to cure the fan motor and It was smooth sailin all the way back to Goldsboro. Pics will come later tonight probably I will get a new thread goin for them.

Well the KJ's suffer from a design flaw, one which was identified by the group on this outing. Every KJ in the group suffered from a failing fan motor from being swamped by muddy water.

I had the issue with mine back at the inaugural Fools Run, and limped it back to Raleigh from PA.

The trails were slippery, stinky, muddy, rocky, and a bunch of fun! Dean & the Ellers (in a sweet TJ on 35" Mickey Thompson mudders) did fine with the sludge. Kolesy & the TJ on BFG AT's, and me on my Nitto AT's struggled just a little with the sludge, but did just fine all things considered.

It needs to be noted that despite the challenging conditions, the folks with just a little experience did a FANTASTIC job with the driving. No one got horribly stuck, and we had only one high center all day long. That being said if I was driving a TJ with 4" of lift on 35's I don't think I'd ever be stuck...

Kudos to Meredith for taking the wheel for one of the challenging sections of the morning, she handled it like a pro, and bounced it around even less than her husband does most of the time!

I hope all those with fan issues are home safe and no other issues came up!

Now, my fan didn't fail. Remember, as soon as I turned off the A/C, it cooled off the engine just fine.

Let's see, where's that check list :
Snide remark by Wrangler owner at El Dorado. "Glad to see someone finally wheel one of those." check

Take the harder route behind "The best 4 x 4 by Far". (Land Rover, Discovery) check

Soak (cover head to toe with an inch layer of red clay mud) a quad rider who wouldn't get out of the way. check

Snide remarks on the trail by some overly modified Wranglers. "Did you drop some groceries?" "Is this where the broken down Jeeps park?" check

Strap out a Grand Cherokee. check

Strap out a Toyota. Once to get it back on the road, Twice to jump start the engine. check

Bypass an overly modified Jeep that broke down because of bad driving and see their pitiful dirty faces wishing that they had as much fun as the mud soaked Liberty passing them. check
