I'm looking to have some work done on my jeep ... new upper arms installed, maybe have a look into the rear subframe a little (I have this annoying suspicion in the back of my mind that my encounter with that rock in Cleghorn did a little more than was visible at the time, like maybe bending the subframe a little bit).

Thanks!

I'd suggest 4wheelparts on glenwood ave. I bought my lift from them and they know their stuff.

heres the link to the main site: http://www.4wheelparts.com/
and heres the link to the Raleigh store: http://www.4wheelparts.com/stores/Store ... px?sNo=211

Is there any other? Not that I don't like them or anything. I'm sure they're good .. talked to ... who was the owner?

The problem is that they don't install anything they don't sell and since Al's A arm is from small vendor they claim they could be liable. To me this is pure bullpoop of course ... like I would sue them if the arm break, you know what I mean?

So, on with the search :-)

Bill - any shop in the area is going to do the old "we don't install customer parts" route.

Given any thought to making it a do it ourselfer project? I'd lend whatever muscle and tools I have... Just get an alignment when we're done and call it good?

Bill you wanna cruise an hour east, we can put them on in my garage, I did mine and they were extremely easy to do, just get an alignment after and call it good.

Thanks guys for a lot of offer to help :-) It really warms my heart. I'm so busy though so if you don't mind I'll take you up on it in about oh three to four weeks or so.

Next couple of weeks I'm back in CA to visit a friend and his newborn baby boy then I'm off to Cambridge for another week ...

See you guys soon!

I am curious about any reputable mechanics. The Jeep it's "mine" perse, but I'm going to be doing the minor upkeep. We have a CRD, to boot. I am not sure I want to change the timing belt on it, when the times comes. I've never replaced the belt on a turbo vehicle. We've got a long way to go before it's even due, I just want to know what to expect. This saved me in Chapel Hill when the little bugger wouldn't top 30MPH (air in the fuel filter)!

I'm sorry to dig up old threads some more; but I'm sure you know, new members, old issues  . Anyway, there is this mechanic I have been going to in downtown Raleigh called 'Supreme Auto'. They helped me out when I realized I did not have the wiring skill necessary to finish my hitch. Also, I've had them do a few other things that they did very well. It is a little on the pricey side, so I don't use them all the time, but they are very nice. If somebody else has experience with them, I would be very interested to hear it, as I am still not 100% about this place.
Here's the Website:
http://www.supremeautoservice.com/index.html

Also, I have used Turn Key Tire, and had a great experience:

I'm pretty sure both are family/locally owned and operated.
