The Eller family and I are going to hit Uwharrie on Saturday. Anyone who wants to join us, post up here or call me at 919 270 9997.

It would be great if Bill and family could make it!

Well, we convinced Bill to come along so it is going to be next Saturday at Uwharrie. Anyone else want to wheel in the heat and dust and rocks?

I figure I will haul my booty over to Bill about 830, which would get us to Eldorado about 10. If the Eller's don't take the "shortcut" maybe they will make it in less than an hour... ;)

Where's the Holly Springs dude? You ready to roll yet? What about Greenville?

I am glad we delayed it, 102 was too hot for me to be hauling my fat OLD booty around the trails...

It's almost time.

When, where, and what time do we meet?

I like taking the southern route better ... feels more relaxed to me.

I HATE 24/27, all it takes is one old fart to slow me down for an hour...

Should we just meet in the outpost at 10?

I am open to caravanning if you want, just don't put me in the lead or I will apparently go too fast for everyone.

It will be pretty dry and dusty there this weekend, I am hoping for some rain tonight or tomorrow, but it looks like a no-way situation.

You've got a Jeep ... you are legally allowed to drive on the sides of the road

We can certainly meet at the outpost at 10:00AM, that's plenty of time to pick up lunch along the way.

How many vehicles + families?

Looks like it is back to the 3 vehicles again...

I will see y'all at the outpost at 1000. I'll be the slightly groggy dude.

Well THAT was a cool day :)

I can't believe how long it's been since I last hit a trail ... my feet are getting rusty. We all had fun, the kids and the dog too. Poor old dad almost lost his pride on that hill climb ... haha.

I have had a couple of "whoa" moments ... one in Last Chance canyon in Mojave desert. That was my first teeter-totter (two opposite wheels on ground, two other wheels in holes and I was teeter-tottering from side to side. THAT was not funny as it was happening but hilarious afterwards).

The second was in Anza Borrego. Teeter-tottering again, but this time while pointing downward at skidmark-inducing angle on sandy slope.

That hill climb made number three. Not so much scary as it was the feeling of hopelessness ...
