I'm still planning on going. Got my CRS Rock rails welded on tonight. The are a solid part of the frame, NO FLEX. Skid Row tranny plate is on too. Last piece I need to get in is the rear locker. If I don't have it, I'll still go. As a side note, the friend that welded my rails on has a welder that is about 15 pounds. It was about 12" by 10" by 8". It was awesome. (TIG or stick welding and ran off 110v) I'm going to try to see if I can incorporate one into my rig. I am going to try to find a place to mount a generator motor and hook the fuel line for it to the fuel tank. Then we can make repairs on the trail. Another crazy idea I had was to use my rock rails as air tanks. I figure they will hold 5 pounds of air probably. I can hook them to the OBA I add and have a little resevoir. Rescu2000 PS. Are you going to have the front drive shaft in by then? |

Mmm hmm ... and you'll be doing what to your rock rails? Bash and scrape them against rocks? Nice |

Trust me, If I put a hole in these beefy monsters, loosing 5 pounds of air is the least of my problems. These things are heavy pipe. I was really impressed. Rescu2000 |

You could always put a bladder inside of them to hold the air. This guy named Kramer was testing it out for oil rigs, but I bet it would work for air too. |

Richard, I'm beginning to think that you actually don't have a Jeep anymore. I think you just say you are putting stuff on so you don't have to show up at the trail. |

Its sheerly a funds issue at the moment. I cant be wheelin the TJ at this moment because all 4 tires rub. The fronts hit the LCA's, and the rears hit the upper spring perches. Gotta get rid of that 5" backspacing! But if you want evidence that I do still own the best vehicle the world has ever seen, I will post up a teaser shot. |

I got a message from beforedawn about this, I'd love to check it out. I'm running a standard stock 4x4 atm so I probably couldn't do much, although I do want to see what I can do in that thing. My only problem is that I work fri and sat morning until 2. I think Uwharrie is only like 1.5 hours from me so I could probably come down for an afternoon or so. Sunday I might be able to come down longer but I have a feeling you'll be wrapping it up by then. Let me know what you think and maybe I could come check it out and meet some more carolina kj owners. |

ChrisLiberty, You might be surprised what you will be able to do stock. My main recommendation is to get a set of skids. You can probably do without the fuel tank skid for the moment and just get the Front, Engine, and Tcase skids from the dealer for les than $200 including tax. Hey everyone, I have hit a small snag. My UBJ's are shot. If I can't get an Al's UCA installed by then, I wil have to sit this one out. I will still go if I don't get my locker in though. Rescu2000 |

Awesome sounds great. I don't know if I'd be able to get the skids by then but I think I'll at least be coming down sunday. That's definately #1 on my list of things to do, #2 being tow hooks. If I do come down on Sunday, I don't have a cb yet either so how would I get in touch with anybody to meet up? And also if I can come, I've got no problem bringing some brews. |
