5th Annual OBX Run - October1-19th, 2008
The Mid-Atlantic / Carolina ""L.O.S.T."" Annual romp along the Outerbanks of North Carolina. No skids, No lift, No problem. The run is on Saturday and leaves early in the morning. The group will travel up the coast, on the coast in the white sands of the OBX, past fisherman and lighthouses. Around noon we'll stop to grill up some lunch and maybe catch some dinner. Bring your beach toys or fishing gear. After a long lunch, we'll continue up the beach until it's time to go find a place to eat. Get a hotel with the other ""L.O.S.T."" or camp down near the beach. Sunday is yours for playing or going home.

Most likely going
1 ) dog_party
2 ) uvalax236
3 ) Ugg
4 ) beforedawn

Maybe going
1 )

Can't go (weenies, posers, and other losers)
1 ) LoganSix
2 ) KJ Willy

Communication
Channel 36 CB and FRS (CB preferred)

Where to meet
TBD

Where to stay
On Friday - Campground in Frisco ($20 /night)
On Saturday - Campground in Oregon Inlet ($20 /night)
http://www.nps.gov/caha/camping99.htm
The camp ground has clean toilets and cold water showers. There are off the ground "fire pits" and picnic tables. Camping surface is sand. Usually one or two tent areas per campsite. Paved road around the camp area. There is a dune between the beach and the campsite. The site was pretty quiet and very dark at night. The noisest residents are the crickets. I believe they took credit cards (the campsite, not the crickets).

Hotel
TBD

What you need
Bring a cooler for your lunch on Saturday.
No special equipment needed for your Jeep. 4x4 is recommended, not sure if you can do it in 2 wheel drive.

There is still a bunch of sandbox on Ocracoke....especially on ramp 72 up by town. All of the ramps on the upper banks that I drove by were open too. However, most of them are going to either "no night driving (10PM - 6AM) or "night driving by permit only".

I think it's worth trying to put it together.

I only get vacation around Thanksgiving this year.
Due to the project I am working on, I am expecting to be spending New Year's Day at the office.

Fun fun fun.

Richard, I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. Call me if you need someone to talk to.

I just found out that I have an NRA dinner on the 18th, so I can't make it either.

Richard sorry to hear about your loss.

Does anyone want to try to go the following Sunday? I have some guys from the ship and I are trying to plan it, the ship is actually going to be in this weekend, just the Sat and Sun but we will be in, I have duty Sat so it is out unless we just meet you guys down there.

Let me know, we leave tomorrow and sometimes I can get on sometimes I can't, but I will keep you informed if we are going.
