What are the advantages/disadvantages to the choosing one way or the other?

Weld on: You dont have to worry about bolts coming undone, however if you bend it, you have to cut the welds off and eiter A. get a new bar or B. bend it back.

Bolt on: You can remove it whenever you please, however you do have to check the bolts on occasion to make sure that they are not coming undone.

You guys will love these. Got mine the first time around several years ago. Welded on. Went straight to Uwharrie from CRS and tested them right off the bat. Heard them scraping across a rock or two. Definitely saved my rocker panel. They've held up great and as mentioned on the other thread, they are overbuilt to last.

A good reason to get rock rails.... That picture of Deans KJ dropping into that muddy hole.... I was in that congo line, dropped in, my rocker panel was eaten by something in there. Luckily I got it fixed on the cheap. With the rockrails, no worries.

Count me in!

Bolt on.

I'm going to try to make it to the party in Charlotte on the 18th, but I might not be able to make it. Ugg, are you still up for bringing a set back to VAB?

I can drag a set back to the beach for ya. Glad to see you are in. I'm kind of hoping that we can run down there together. Since it is 5 hours I was planning leaving between 5 and 6 (closer to 6). Get the rails installed early afternoon and then head home.

I hope we can sneak away and join you for the trek down too. We're going to try, but it seems like every time we plan something like that, some big wedding planning catastrophe happens and we have to cancel. At this point, I'd rather plan for the worst and hope for the best.

I don't know what route you might be taking Richard (uvalax236), but if you're heading down around the same time, maybe we could all meet up somewhere and caravan the KJs. Emporia? Raleigh?

My brother lives in Raleigh, maybe I can get him to drive down with us too. He probably won't buy any rails though...he's buying a house, so he's going to be more broke than me after I get married!

Thanks for the offer to bring them back if I can't go Ugg. I'll keep you posted one way or the other.
