I'll be in Myrtle Beach, SC on Oct. 5th - Oct. 9th. I might leave earlier and get there around Oct. 1st and leave Oct. 9th.

Is anyone near Myrtle Beach?

Just giving a heads up to those who might want to meet up somewhere. :juggle:

There are 3 routes I can take on Mapquest. Neither of them go through West Virginia. They all go through Knoxville, TN not Nashville. Nashville is in the opposite direction I want to go.

The only route that takes me through NC is I-40E. Two major cities in NC I would be going through are Asheville and Charlotte. From Charlotte, I would go straight down to Columbia, SC. Then hightail it west through Camden, Florence, Marion and then arriving at Myrtle Beach.

thats what i meant was knoxville

the wva route ends up coming down 77 and hitting 40E around winston salem

reason i asked is the knoxville route is much easier on the vehicle than the wva route, and there's only about 45 mins difference between the two routes

if you do a mapquest for lexington ky to myrtle beach sc itll auto pop to the knoxville route, much farther north than lexington and it autopops to the wva route, if you drag the blue route line towards greensboro nc itll jump to the other route

i prefer the knoxville route when going north and the wva route when going south

couldn't remember where in ky you lived was the reason i asked, i no longer need a gps or map or anything of the such to drive either of the routes from nc to IL/OH/IN/KY which is pretty sad that it's become so autopiloted haha

I'm about 45mins east of greensboro where 85 and 40 merge going west/south and split going east / north so either route you take you'll flank me to my west and chris diekzz to his east - meet in the middle for some breakfast lunch dinner something

So I Mapquested the route you just mentioned. I did the Lexington, KY to Myrtle Beach, SC. I live around Somerset, KY. In order for me to do this, I would have to hit I-75 up to Lexington, then get on I-64 to West Virginia. Then hop on I-77 down to North Carolina and exit on to I-74 to get remotely close to you and Chris.

I wouldn't mind taking the scenic route to Myrtle Beach. The problem would be I will have my sister with me and I'm not so sure she would like the idea.
But if she wants me to take her to Myrtle Beach early to see Loretta Lynn, then she will have to bite her lip and go with my plan.

Here's the plan, I can drive to Greensboro, NC via the Knoxville route. It would save me 2hrs on time and a lot of gas money. So I would drive to Greensboro, NC to meet up with you and Chris (if he can make it) and whoever else, stay in Greensboro for the night and head on down to Myrtle Beach the next morning. This route will save me a lot of headache. :dizzy:

Whacha think?
