Uwharrie Run - April 29th, 2006
Uwharrie National Forrest is near Troy, NC. The area has camping, trails, and a lake. Trails range from hiking, horse, to ORV. There are 7+ miles of ORV trails in Uwharrie. The trails range from easy to "OMG!! Did I just do that in my brand new Liberty?!?" There is camping allowed on all ORV trails as long as it isn't designated as no camping. There are campsites close by with showers and toilets. Troy is down the road from Asheboro and the only gas station near Uwharrie is the Eldorado Outpost.

This place is great for beginners and seasoned off-roaders.

Eldorado Outpost
http://www.eldoradooutpost.com/
9:00 am

Where to stay
Campground in Uwharrie Arrowhead

What you need
If you plan on doing most of the trails at Uwharrie, rails and skid plates are highly recommended.
Tow points front and rear are also highly recommended.
You may also want to bring extra water to wash things off, because it can be either extra muddy or dusty.

Make sure you guys stay off of Daniel, I don't know if it will be as friendly after a month of abuse. But, you can always turn around at the top of the rock hill and head back down the trail.

Tell me more. Are there any hotels close? Where/what time are ya'll meeting?

All of my parts are hopelessly delayed, so I'll bring the stock Liberty. I've got to get out of the house and this sounds like a great opportunity to meet some of you. I'll have my whole crew, wife and three kids with me.

The nearest hotels are probably in Asheboro. I think everyone is meeting at 9 am. The stock liberty can make it, just be prepared to do some scraping. I had that problem last time but not anymore.

Hey.. How old are your kids? I am bringing my wife and 5 year old along..

I found a hotel in Albemarle.. A nice Holiday Inn... It is 26 miles from Eldorado... That is where I am going to spend the night before driving back to Charleston...

I have a six year old daughter, Destiny, a three year old daughter, Grace, and a one year old son, Caleb.

We're going to head down Friday and spend the night. We'll probably head for home Saturday evening, but we may stay over also, playing it by ear.

My daughters are social butterflies, by the end of the day I'm sure they'll all be best friends.

I've got a Frankenlift and 31x10.50x15 MT Radial Claws on order. When my income tax comes back I'm going to get some CRS sliders, skids, and a Powertrax locker.

Looking forward to seeing ya'll Saturday morning!

There is a shooting range at Uwharrie.
Not sure what the deal is for shooting there. But, you can usually hear people shooting from some points on the trail and definitely from the ArrowHead campground.

My check engine light came on this morning. I took it to the dealership and they said that it was the EGR valve. No big suprise
They cleared the codes and said I was ok to drive it until the parts come in.

We will see everyone tommorow morning at the Outpost. We will be staged over on the left side of the store.

Cant wait to meet everyone!!!

Allen
