Uwharrie Run - May 27th, 2006
Uwharrie National Forrest is near Troy, NC. The area has camping, trails, and a lake. Trails range from hiking, horse, to ORV. There are 7+ miles of ORV trails in Uwharrie. The trails range from easy to "OMG!! Did I just do that in my brand new Liberty?!?" There is camping allowed on all ORV trails as long as it isn't designated as no camping. There are campsites close by with showers and toilets. Troy is down the road from Asheboro and the only gas station near Uwharrie is the Eldorado Outpost.

This place is great for beginners and seasoned off-roaders.

9:00 am

Where to stay
Campground in Uwharrie Arrowhead or on the trail.
The campground may be booked by now.

What you need
If you plan on doing most of the trails at Uwharrie, rails and skid plates are highly recommended.
Tow points front and rear are also highly recommended.
You may also want to bring extra water to wash things off, because it can be either extra muddy or dusty.

I'm thinking I might not be able to make it now either.
I have a decorating project that needs to get done so I can get my living room back.

Maybe we can try for another Saturday in June.

Backsplash? Behind a toilet? That seems kind of..... um.... maybe you just need to improve your aim.

Actually, I have been keeping track of my progress.

I have too many hobbies. And when one of them takes up a 1/4 of my house, it needs to be addressed.

Man, remind me to never eat at your house.

I still made it up there today. It was about noon before I got up there. We were able to make it across a few trails and I rode down daniel in my friends scrambler. It was his first time up and I figured he probably needed some help with it. It is very dry up there right now, but still a good time. I only have a couple of pics and I will see if I can figure out how to post them.

Cool.

Sorry I couldn't make it.

Was it crowded?

It wasnt to bad. The only crowded spot was the 3 foot drop/climb on Daniel. A couple of people broke axles and it lead to a traffic jam. We sat and watched about 15-20 vehicles go up it after we got down.
