Hey Vranes, and anybody else that wants in, here's what I propose...
We meet up at at the Daily Planet Diner that Albert suggested at say 10:30AM, chit chat and whoever is with us by 11AM, we roll.
See what the place has to offer, pics, etc...
And depending on the time, on the way back south to NYC, I want to try and stop at Bear Mountain and drive up to the Perkins Tower
So if anyones interested in that, could be a nice full day of driving our KJ's on and off road.
I do remember the last time I was up that way at 909 there were quite a few No Motorized Vehicle signs on the trails that were footpath/mountain bike trails only. So as long as we stay off of those I think we should be good.
Meet at Daily Planet Diner- 1202 Route 55, Lagrangeville, NY 12540
Time-10:30, roll out at 11AM.

Sounds like a plan, I just have to be back in New Rochelle for 6pm. So if I have to ill part ways early, but im pumped. Hope my tranny skid comes in tomorrow so I can install it Sunday in time for the trip.(stever71 if you end up being able to go PM me and we can meet and go up together)

from all the mondays it had to be this one, well i would love to go but i cant. fiance is going to be around the house and she wants to do some wedding stuff.... :banghead:

PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT GIVE OUT TRAIL NAMES OR LOCATIONS OF TRAILS OR TOWN'S THERE IN FOR THAT MATTER on a PUBLIC FORUM, group meeting area's are ok but that's as far as it should go

any places that you guy's find that are LEGAL should be kept under raps as far as names & locations

any thing we find is sacred since we're losing places left & right

Pete.....909 is not the real name and no directions were given that I was aware of. We were trying to be careful. Only directions/address of a diner to meet at.

It is a legal place. It is in the middle of nowhere with no real address and a different name.

True Albert, but there was a road name that led directly to the AREA 909.
It is open public land, but Stever71 said the last time he went, a ranger told him that he has noticed an increase of Jeep in the AREA 909.

I am not sure that it is because of us or other local people. In the past I had mad a mistake by publicly telling TA directions and all of the sudden TA was hit with alot of people going there and was noticed more things happend up there.

We either need to come up with codes for our trails and PM the important info to meeting spots.

Hey guys, yeah I went up there, probably my second time, and I spoke to a Ranger as I was coming down the trail, I saw him talking with a couple of bikers (mountain bikes), so I stopped & spoke with him, then showed him the map that I downloaed from their site stating where us jeepers can ride. He said that they (rangers) noticed 4x4 tracks in the un-authorized areas such as the hiking, biking, etc. Everthing is posted clearly, he did say that if anyone was caught in the other areas, that they would face a ticket, and be thrown out. Since then, I've been up there about 10-15 times, without problems.

Really nice to meet Dave and Andrew and BS about all stuff KJ and offroading, and share some secrets! :-)r

As for the trails, all mellow stuff on fireroads. Everyone was a good boy and no one got ticketed, arrested, or broke anything. I even got a few waves from the walkers and skiers. Maybe got the Jeeps a little muddy (thanks dean for that parking lot spraydown!- very funny stuff!) and some driving on slippery surfaces, but that's all really. Sorry for all the misunderstandings on the forum about trail names, locations, etc. It will not happen like that again...Invites only in the PM realm for now on. :banghead:

I would like to post the few pictures that I took, but I want to make sure it's cool to do that on this PUBLIC forum? cool...
I don't wanna ruffle the feathers in here, and continue to wheel with a great bunch of Jeepers.

don't sweat it, mistakes happen , lesson learned

you guy's wanna post pics or vid that's fine NO PROBLEM at all

my only consern is the use of trail names & locations keep them under the hush hush

invites are fine in public also just DON'T get into specific detail where the area is or it's name in public, use the PM's for that stuff

hope you guy's had fun.. :wink:
