I'd like to volunteer my services to admin and create a site if there isn't one already. I've done a few in my day. This is my current work, simple, but functional:

http://team-aff.aim2game.com/

Only thing is - if you wanted a specific domain (ie www.lostNE.com) someone would have to pay for the name and hosting space. Maybe someone already has a place?!

If I hosted it - it would be on my metrocast space and the URL would have to be something like www.metrocast.net/~dsnoyes/lostNE.html

Let me know if I can help at all!

Well, I started working on this about a month back (I haven't done anything with it since, due to a lack of time). Right now it is just on my free pages from my ISP, but if it takes off, it can be moved to a regular server, with a real domain name. I hope to start playing around with it again this week. If anyone has any ideas, or pictures that they want posted (I'm thinking a members page to show off our rigs), please e-mail me at lostkj@comcast.net.

You can see the site here http://home.comcast.net/~lostkj/

WELL Joe this is one of the reasons for our meeting on july 30th(check the thread)the deal is myself along with Bluelib03 (Orlando) and 1 OTHER PERSON which I have in mind, will run the club, rather than 1 president we'll have 3 administrators, each with a duty for the club,it's less STRESS on just 1 person doing it all, more detail will be at the meeting

Great start to the site - love the color scheme and stuff - my offer still stands, if you want/need help maintaining it I'd be glad to :)

As for the meeting, I dunno if we'll make it - I think we're camping that weekend :(

JoN, I'm in Maspeth. Elmhurst is right next door so to speak. The meeting sounds good, don't know if I can make it thought. Just got out of the hospital for a shoulder surgery (rotator cuff). Since I work for the city and the injury was job related, I'm under a sort of house arrest. I feel like a criminal, they check to see that you home constantly. Recovery time is six weeks so I'm looking at mid August.
Anyway, I'll keep an eye out for posts so those of use who could'nt go will know what's going on. I do agree on the regional thing too, the N.E. is big. Later Guys...

Oh yeah, We may not have a web site but we do have a pulse. Anyone have a rough head count as far as members go ? I just sent in my order for my sticker. I have'nt seen anyone in my area with any on a back window. Maybe you guys should talk about a web page. I personally would'nt mind paying lets say a yearly dues fee to keep it up and rolling. If there are enough members it can't cost too much I guess but I don't really know much about that stuff. Just a suggestion...

as far as the website's concerned, i got something i can modify easily to fit the new stuff.
thats one thread we forgot to port over, the who's who in LNE.

anyway, i can offer temp bandwidth/space and a temp domain name
i will have some a d v e rtising on the site, and that's all i ask everyone to do is to go to the sites listed on the ba n n ers
revenue generated from them will go towards LNE's own domain and hosting.

no expenses to everyone else.....

if this is a feasable idea w/ everyone else, lemme know, so i can go ahead w/ it
my AIM is aclassic86

i know there are a few others that are offering to help w/ the website, maybe we can all collaborate and get one up....

Joe

sweet, maspeth is just a stone's throw away, now that I think about it, i think I may have seen ur jeep in passing. no stickers tho...
hope ur recovery is a speedy one..must suck not to drive her...LoL

The site I put together (see above) was just something simple that Pete (racinfan) asked me to do. If anyone else wants to help, that's fine by me.

I also agree on regions. I don't think I (personally) would drive 3 or 4 hours for a ride, and I wouldn't expect anyone else to either.

I wish I could make the meeting, but I have a wedding to go to that night. I'll try to get some more done on the site this week. I have a couple of more ideas that I want to try out. If anyone else has any ideas, feel free to pass them along.

Tim you have a SUPER start there - love the colors and basic design. I agree with racinfan, simple and not too flashy is the way to go.

As for suggestions - only thing I have in mind right now are the "pages" it maybe should have:
HOME PAGE(obviously!)
LINKS PAGE(suggested by LOSTNE members)
MEMBERS PAGE (with pics - Lib or person, maybe State and email or AIM)
CALENDAR or SCHEDULE OF EVENTS PAGE
LOSTNE MERCHANDISE (if we do more than stickers)

Tim - I don't wanna step on toes - you're doing great there! If you have the time and wanna continue what you started that's cool with me! My offer stands - but its your choice all the way ok?

As for hosting - I dont know a lot about it - if we want a specific domain name I think we have to register and pay for it. Yahoo has something for $11.95 a month and a $25 set up fee - seems like it could work - but Joe's offer could work too!

...my 2 cents :)

i'll still fudge w/ mine, but i just got dumped w/ some more work earlier, so i'll see how far along i can take it..

if not, whoever finishes one...i can still offer temp hosting/bandwidth/sub-domain
again, to negate us having to front money, i'll put ads on it...so the site will just end up paying for itself...
remember, no money out of anyone's pockets...

the rev generated from it will go towards it's own domain/hosting
then i'll sign it up for it's own ad account..

I posted this up WAY back....

needs modification (tho i might not be able to actually use whatever it is u see cuz i think the original files were lost w/ my hdd)
but it's pretty much gonna look like that w/ colour matching closer to what we have now...

Sweet, put the two concepts together and we've got a darn nice site going!

Joe - what kind of advertising would there have to be? Would it be Jeep stuff? Or like mortgages and loans, stuff like that? Just curious.
