here's the deal I'd realy like to see our club grow & be something (not that we aren't now) I need help with this too much work for 1 person.

NHLiberty & I have talked the past few days & she shares alot of interest in this like myself, she's offerd her help in getting our section organized & has done a great job so far :D,she's better at computers than I am so she has taken the role of our site administrator here until we can get our web site finished then if it's still ok with her she'll move over to that also in other area's but I'm not going to give her alot of stuff I don't want anybody stressing, small steps at a time.

I don't know anything about running a club, but will learn along the way,I do need acouple of people to help me with all this that are willing to be dedicated, now I do understand you all have lives just like me & family is first,I'm not asking for every waking moment just a little help to get us moving forward & it won't be easy I'm sure.

I will handle club merchandise(ordering, making, shipping, etc.),an organizing club meetings (which I would like to have atleast 2 a year for now) & any phone calls that may have to be made.

the other help I'll need is to organize trail runs & finding places to go(which there is a post for this) but making sure it's legal, some of us may not make every one if it's too far that's expected, but if we can find places with in a couple of hours that's not to bad, NY would be too far for me unless it's a long weekend then maybe, if we could maybe get a trail clean up going that would be awesome but I don't know how to go about that :?:

I want to make this fun for everyone,& if I have missed anything to start with PLEASE let me know, and I'M OPEN FOR ANY & ALL IDEAS,like I've stated this is a learning process for me so please bear with me

At this point it doesn't look like we have a whole lot of support in the NE. I hope this isn't true but I only see 8 members listed on the main board post under member #s/club affiliations. Unless we get more support than 8 members for 7 states, we aren't gonna be able to do too much. These are currently the only members listed for the NE:

Northeast

JEEPEK2 020411
Neatus 021337
NHLiberty 022332

Se7enLC 023133

Joe Jeep Owner

If all you guys get listed under the NE club affiliation that would give us the most listed members of the clubs.

Back to the point of the original posting,
I'd be willing to help out with whatever need to be done.

I'm currently trying to get in touch with Jaimal to see about putting together a run this fall (before the snow flies). If anything, maybe I can get a line on some trails. I'll keep everyone posted.

Other than that, let me know if there is anything else I can do to help. I've been kind of busy running around with the kids every night, but I can offer a few hours here and there on the computer if need be. Let me know.

There's always that run up in Bethel, Maine in a couple weeks that I posted about. It's a hike, but it's a paid offroad park with trails and such, and it's combined with another group, so there should be a big turnout. Has anybody looked into that any more?

I kinda always figured it was everyone's job to keep an eye out for places to ride :-P Being in mass, we're pretty much out of luck, it's not legal to wheel on state land, and good luck finding any open private land out here. Maybe western mass has something, but I haven't heard of it.

You've been doin a great job so far, Pete! I'll help out anyplace I can, but I'm afraid I've got no experience in finding places to ride, but if anybody needs a hand with website and all that computer-type stuff, let me know.

on a side note: is anybody in another northeast wheeling club? I've seen a few different clubs, and while they all seem to imply that they do rides, they don't list where, when, how often, or if it's legal, so I suppose the only way to find out would be to join.

Sorry I haven't been around in a while.
I'm willing to help out where I can.

Also, NHliberty & Jaimal, I will be in your area on Friday. I'm taking my liberty to Lakes Jeep for some warranty work. I'll be there dropping it off at 8am. If you are free, stop on by or just want to chat for a few and meet. Also, if you want to PM me, I will give you my cellphone number.

Let me know where I can help.

Wayne.

I recently got in touch with the president of Deepwoods Extreme (http://www.deepwoodsextreme.com/index.htm) a MA based 4x4 club that a friend of mine belongs to. They do trail rides in MA and he replied back and said he'd be willing to share with us. Said he's kinda busy right now but will be in touch. I'll keep you all posted on what I find out there.

There is a club that I'm a semi-member and Orlando, Wayne and Jaimal are members (or were anyways) of here in MA. It's called New England Jeepz ( http://www.newenglandjeepz.com ). There are some nice people there, and they go on runs all of the time. The only thing is they play rough! Most of them drive older Wranglers and Cherokees and don't really care if stuff breaks. Some of the places they go, I would not take my Liberty. Don't get me wrong, they are great people, and very knowledgeable, they just like to play a little harder than me

On another note, I got a reply from Jaimal, and his Liberty will no longer be going off-road (he's trying to sell it). I might be able to get him to come along for a ride (I rode shotgun for him before) though. He has been busy with his job lately, and has been traveling for it too. He can't really commit to any runs, but if he is around, I think he would join us. That being said, I would like to try and get a run in before it gets too cold out. I'd like to head back to the first place we ran last May (trying to be a little cryptic here), but I think the second place we hit that day might be a little rough in some spots. You have to remember now, of the group that went out last May, none of us are lifted (Orlando left for Florida, and Jaimal is no longer wheelin'), so I think the first place we went to would be good. Stock friendly, but still a few obstacles. I need to check some things on my schedule then I'll start a new thread about this. Hopefully we can get a run in before the end of the year (that should hold us over until spring). I'll keep everyone posted...

Hey guys, sorry I've been absent for a while, but I'm here!

My thoughts on running a club.... it's hard!! I run a Triumph Riders group here, and getting people to come is REAL hard, altho I think Long Island is a really bad place geographically to organize people. So my hats off to you!! Personally, my life is cray right now, but if anyone has any specific questions, feel free to e-mail me off the boards, MUCH faster responses garunteed!!
