OK GUY'S here's a little charity work for us that Neatus put together

& a meet & greet JON started

NOV 12 there will be a toy's for tot's run to Bear MT. in NY & meet & greet don't know about BBQ depends on weather I guess

MEETING PLACE FOR TRAVELERS FOR FOLLOW THE LEADER- to be determined :?:

TIME- around 12:00pm (lunch)

Bring a new unwraped toy Neatus will handle it from there NO PRESSURE for those that don't want to bring something DON'T feel obligated

anyway, the details for the bbq....well, just bring whatever.
BUT post up here on what you plan to bring.

in the past years we have had more food than ppl, hopefully, this time we'll have equal amounts....

If anyone for some reason is going to bring a crazy amount of toys let me know so that I can make sure to be able to accomodate them.

Does this place have in place BBQ grills or will one of us need to bring one?

FYI, I am going to shoot this thread over to the MidAtlantic folks so that they can join us in the fun. Looks like Bear Mountain is close for a lot of them. The more the merrier is what I say. Okay folks, seems like this could be a fun thing for us all. Imagine that we can have fun and help others out...that rocks!

I will be collecting toys here up until our meet date. I also have a bunch of Toys for Tots shwag to give out to you guys when we meet.

Anyone selling LOST gear please bring it with you so those interested can buy some.

Anyone familiar with the area could you please help us on an exact place to meet?

Admin, can you put this in the LOST runs section?

There are several easy places to meet depending on where people are coming from. There's the entrance to the military base where the tank is, there's the tower itself, the bear mountain inn, the bear mt bridge, Cold Spring (about 10 minutes away but a good pizza place if it's bad weather..... And of course, there's always Indian Point! :shock:

We usually meet up Perkins drive near perkins tower (hence tower of power)

last year we went back down to the bear mtn inn. thats where we had the bbq. (since up the mtn, charcoal is prohibited, but gas grille isnt)

from I-87 North, you can take exit 13 N which will take you to palisades pkwy
then it's exit 19....

I may have doubled booked the 12th...which might make my time limited.

yep, it is before the inn. the entrance to the tower is right after you exit from the palisades

I will throw in a box of hamburgers so someone just needs to bring hotdog and or hamburger rolls and condiments.

bring portables. if y'all are gonna cook w/ charcoal, then i suggest meeting up in the inn (perkins tower tho offers a nice view, so i suggest y'all go up afterwards if anything)

gas grilles only on the tower.

i'll draw up a map. it will give a general idea of where things are.
