Yeah same here. This weekend sucks for me. But next weekend might be a possibility. I'd like to get back on the beach before the weather gets unbearable to fish. Got out to Smith Point on Monday after picking the Jeep up from the dealership, and the whole outer beach was open out to the inlet. Lots of people out fishing on the weekday, and there was also a lot of erosion from the recent storms we've been getting hit with. Def, keep me in mind for next weekend if that's the plan.
Proof that I can still get offroad!

Hope this guy got out before this washed up!

i think this weekend imma put my lift in. ive been putting it off for weeks bc i had no time. i got new front struts so my friend is going to compress them for me. then im puttin the lift in. im getting the tires this week hopefully. if i still have room with the 265/70/16 i may upgrade to 265/75/16, so from 31's to 32's. depends on my lift and the rub. i heard that with 265/70/16 has no rub so im really excited! :goink:

If your going that large you might want to regear too. I noticed a difference when I went to a larger size tire. Any bigger and I would def want a regear. The power seriously lacks!
Looking forward to seeing another lifted KK on the isle.

I want to Re-gear SO BAD.
That's what I'm saving for now.
It's even worse for me, since I have the six speed, I have 3.55s, not 3.73s. Better for lower end torque, with this transmission.

With all my front diff issues I so want to get the steel diff and regear with a locker, but that's BIG bucks! I didn't know you had 3.55s, must really lag with your tires and steelies. Dean, have you figured out your code issues? Seems like a bunch of us KJ guys just can't catch a break this month. We must appease the jeep gods so we can continue to mod these things. I just got a riddler 8.25 cover and lubelocker gasket. Gonna try to hit that up this weekend. Also a new stubby antenna. Looks cleaner with the shorty instead of that silver whip. I'm researching cb's and thinking of doing another antenna mod. Little things... But mods none the less. Oh and I'm still leaking diff oil! I'm at a loss of words for the stealerships "5 star" service!

Yeah, thats why I wasn't posting in the Toys for Tots thread, I was scared to get in trouble too!
I found out I had 3.55s from another thread, I never confirmed it, but I think I do. I definitely felt the difference in power. But with the manual it's easier, I know which gear I should be in when I want X amount of power, without having the transmission guess which gear to be in.
I still have the same code, I have the extended warranty, and usually things with emissions is covered (I think), so I'm going to drop it off on Monday.

i know yea i may but im only going from stock size 29's ( i think) to 31's. its not that dramatic of a change, and plus i dont have 1000 to spend :[ what size tires do the KJ's come stock with?

Depends on the year/package of the kjs. Mine came with 225/75/16's. When I lifted I went with the tried and true 245/75/16 steelies and I noticed a definite decrease in power. Takes a bit more of the skinny pedal to get er moving. Especially with the auto tranny, there is more searching for the correct gear. A 265 size is quite a bit taller I would think, so just a word to the wise to think about the size when choosing the new set of tires for your KK. A regear would help out a lot, but like u said- it's mo money. Just my :2cents: ... Get that lift on Rachel! Your rig will look awesome with some big tires and of course, the height can only help! :)

yea my KK came with 225/75/16 as well. the 265/70/16 tires some other person with a kk had them... on this forum actually but i forgot who it was. they said they had no rub whatsoever and if it was without a lift (which i doubt) then with my lift ill have no prob. ill prob lift her then put her feet on then later down the road when i get the :2cents: ill regear her. the 265'd are def taller my friend has them on his Xterra and hes giving me all 4 for $100 only have mayb 2 or 3k miles on them. their general grabber AT2's. im trying them on for size and if i dont like them or like how they fit ill just give them right back, and get my money back. and dont worry Jeff, ill be lifted soon enough and swap my tires, and fly through those trails!! :JEEPIN: btw fyi we have to meet! everytime we try to meet something comes up lol we will wheel together someday lol :pepper:  :-)r

100 bucks for grabbers! darn that's a deal. Peter used to have those tires and said they were very good. It just sucks that going to a 265 makes the jeep feel sluggish. I'd love to go a little taller but def would want a regear.
Hope to get together soon and get out wheeling together. One of these days...
