Well finally after driving a full week to work and back with the new "used" tires with the lift I finally got a chance to see what type of mileage I would get. I didnt get a chance to do it last week because I only got the MTRs installed on tuesday. Man what a kick in the pants I got when I ran the numbers down... My usual trip is from exit 49 on the LIE all the way into "da Bronx" and back. In the morning is the usual 65, 70esh MPH and an occasional nascar sprint to clear the soot from the cat and also to give the guy behind me a nice cloud of smoke . On the way home around 3:30PM, 4:30 PM as some of us know the Cross Island parkway and the LIE are parking lots....

Ok back on track... so I ran the numbers and the last time I ran them I was getting 29.? MPG and now I got 28.1 MPG...

Right now the fuel tank sits at one tick under the half way mark with 5 days of driving .

Apparently, the more aggressive I drive, the better my fuel economy is.
I've been averaging around 15-16mpg.
Today I drove 148.8 miles.
I just filled up. I put 7.147 gallons in.. 20.81992444382mpg.
Now, that's about 94.63% highway. But usually I'm driving ~75% highway anyway.
Strange. I'm not complaining. 8)

MUST BE NICE, I get freaking 12-14 and like 18-19 on the highway. The tires Peter are like 50 something lbs a pop.But thats a good size drop. My skid row tranny skid is a killer, thing weighs a ton, but nothing is gonna get effed up under that badboy

And just think of it this way, when you wheel, you reduce your chances of getting the most annoying sidewall punctures. When i went wheeling last week I dug my tires into some rocks, scraping the Rim and sidewall. My rim has a nice gouge in it and the sidewall has just a nice little marking where It contacted. When I had my Cooper ATRs I had 2 stupid sidewall punctures due to wheeling.

BOTTOM LINE______________.

Lifted KJ's with bigger tires adds weight to the KJ. The bbigger they tire the more heavy it is. Remember, your diffs need to spin thoes larger tires in return decreasing your MPG's

When I lifted my KJ and put on moabs with 245/75/16's At E load the tires it self were 52.6 LBS each and rim about 30 lbs.
Do the math and you will see a loss of MPG's

i don't know if it's throwing money away cuz it feels and looks awsum. i'm set up the way you'll be and the only thing i'm not happy with is the slight loss of power, but soon i'll at least change the muffler to help that out. can't really check my mpg's due to the odometer change.
