Pete, Jeff, how much lower is your brake line sitting from the stock location? Both of your setups appear to be lower than mine.

(Oh, and I paid for shipping today :P )

Yeah I think it dropped the line about 3 inches after bending the l-bracket. Still have to do the one on the axle tube.
As for shipping, that's great news!
Just Andrew needs his confirmation, and we all will be finally taken care of. That wait was painful, but at least done before the end of the year.

SO you bought a CB too?
I wanna see!
I'm way behind too Rachel so you don't feel left out. I have had a Riddler 8.25 cover for a few months now and have yet to drain and refill/install the cover. Rock rails, winch, new rack, oh the list goes on and on...
I did get around to this mod though
Image
A quickfist grip for my surefire flashlight! Now that's a MOD! :-)r

Surefire, awesome products, too rich for my blood though.

Talk about a list to fix/add to my Jeep. Behind is not even the word to describe my situation, lol.

I want to get a CB later in the year. $
I have to fix my R&P $$$
I finally smoothed out the plastic on my DS pinch weld today, beautiful day.
My rear end is still saggin, coming up on a year.
Bumpstops, who needs them, lol.
Rock Rails; painted? nope. They're actually rusting away in my garage.
Check engine light still on for EVAP code, I have to bring it to the dealer, they ordered a hose. Waiting to figure out my R&P first.

Jeff, does the flash light get in the way mounted there? Looks like I would kick it (a lot).

I thought it would but it sits far enough back that I have yet to kick the thing. I usually ride with my seat up a little anyways, so it is kinda tucked beneath the butt cushion. I got the light as a gift as I would never buy a flashlight that pricey. But it sure is fancy, and BRIGHT!
Dean, I guess your list is more just the basics of keeping the Jeep actually driving first and foremost! :banghead:
Oh I got one more *sick* mod. This one is mind blowing.
So... the little plastic button on the seatbelt broke. Stupid, small, but very annoying to reach down to floor to find the latch to buckle up.
Before
Image
Found a Jeep tietack for 3 bucks, inserted into the old hole for plastic button, and added some crazy glue to the latch on the back. Custom baby!

SICK!!!

You mean I shouldn't drive it with the R&P like that? I'll look into that.

And that pin is awesome, I think I might just do that, lol.

Sup homies!

Jeff me likey the flash light holder!
Dean when ever you wanne get the ISOs on, you know the #.

First off I would like to introduce you to the 75 wx st CB radio.Image
Right now you're asking yourselves: Gee why did Pete get such a girly CB, why didn't he get a manly mans CB?
I'll tell you why! Well as we all know the KJs weren't "kewl" enough to have a space on the side of the middle console with a strap like the KKs do to hold things down. SOooOooo thats I decided to get this little until. Its nice and small and every thing is in the palm if your hand.

Now to the install.
It took 2 hours because well, know you, pictures and ummm cigarette breaks :juggle:.

Image
Ok first off I had to shorten the bracket because it would still out to much and it wouldn't look "pimp".
Don't pay attention to those open holes :banghead: , nothing that some liquid weld and some touch up paint wont fix.

Image
Here is the rear right side light removed and that hole can be found behind some tape. (Ghetto DC hole cover)
With my superman xray ninja vision I noticed in that hole was another hole to the left that would lead to the inside of the trunks panel.

Image
After getting all 18' of cable in you can see the cable inside the trunk. I would take a better picture but I would need a 3 arm to take a picture while the other hands held the panel open and the other fished out the wire.

Image
Got all the cable in the trunk and decided to run it a cross the trunk under the carpet from the right side end of the trunk to the left side corner pocket (anyone wanna play pool?)

Image
Here is the wire that I ran a cross coming out behind the rear drivers side seat.

Image
Here I just popped off the plastic panel? beside the rear seat to run the cable

Image
Did the same to the panel next to the front seat to run the cable. And yes I vacuumed that dirt on the end because I'm anal like that 8)

Image
Took the plastic cover off under the steering column held by 2 screws.

Image
This is where I got creative. I decided to get power for the CB from the fuse box. Sooo I busted out my certified electricians tool box :ROTFL: to attach a ATM fuse add a line.

Image
Got out the manual, looked at the fuses and decided to use #16 which is the one that sends power to that rear outlet in the trunk. Seriously, how many times have you used it?? IF I do need to use it all I have to do is pop out the add a line and put back the fuse. Less then 30 seconds for that.

Image
Cover back on and wires tucked in nice.

Image
Decided to make the hole on the rear light water proof so I got some gorilla tape and some water proofing sealant.
I guess you can consider that one step over the ghetto DC way

Sweet install brother!
And don't worry, I will be by you, lets wait for the temps to rise a bit. Maybe tomorrow? lol.

With the "add a fuse" you can have power going to both locations.
One fuse goes to the original fuse, and the second goes to the new. (unless you did it this way as to not burn up your box, but you would be fine.)

How about a pic from far away of the antenna?

Can't wait to get mine. 8)

OK! So, everyone else has one, now I need one. I see how it is!
Peter, nice write up with the detailed pics. How many cigs did this install take?
The CB you bought is just a handheld mic? All the controls are in the mic if I'm not mistaken? Looks like a fairly easy mod once all the pieces are acquired.
I love the ghetto waterproof action you got going on in your taillight! nice touch :JEEPIN:

It took a lot of cigarettes Jeff. It was so nice out side I had to enjoy the weather and get some sun :ROTFL:
The install was very easy, it just took longer because I purchased the wrong add a line and had to go back to the auto parts store to exchange it :banghead:.

The CB is a nice little unit. Its an all in one so everything is incorporated in the hand held and it sits very nicely between the 4x4 lever and the middle console.

Here's some reviews from amazon about the CB even though I got it from ebay with free shipping at the great price.

Its bad enough that we had to wait so long for these things and I'm getting tired of looking at them in my garage now I just want them on!

Does anyone have the Install info for these things?
