Yo Peter!
I got antsy and went to it while I was crawling under the Jeep to rotate tires and oil change. Now it's done. Easy as pie! Just got to touch up the bolts with some paint and it will look much better.

Knowing Deans luck he would probably break, snap, crack, fracture, gash, rupture, split, and tear some thing on his KJ going over the first branch he sees...

And that's if I'm lucky.

I did alot of research and decided to go with drilled and slotted rotors accompanied with some ebc yellow stuff brakes. That should put my teeth threw the window

Which rotors brakes did you use Jeff? Did you have a hard time taking the rotors offcuz of the corrosion?

I went with EBC green stuff pads. New slides, permatex brake lube. For rotors I've switched a few times and settled on some Ray Bestos performance series rotors. I've heard the slotted drilled rottirs just get gunked up and cause the pads to wear faster. From now on I think I'm always going to use EBCs, they had a small breaking period and are smooth and quiet now. Still have good brake modulation even after 15000 miles. I likey!

Yea I heard that on the forums somewhere about the rotors but decided to go with em anyways. I think it was a debate between TJKJ and some other member

Hopefully everything will get here by this weekend.

Can't wait!

Got the EBC brakes and rotors done today! I originally wanted to do it all tomorrow but with the rain coming I decided to get it done today. It took 2 hours with occasional cigarette breaks

Very simple to do. After taking the tire off all you have to do is remove 4 bolts, 2 on that hold the brake caliper and 2 that hold the rotor. I did have to bust out a BFM  to get the rotor off.

Image
New rotor on. Shinny! And yes I know I need to refill my windshield washer fluid :goink:

Image
EBC yellow stuff brake pads on.

Image
Compressing the brake piston with a C clap.

Image
All done!

Now for the break in period. :JEEPIN:

Looks good Pete!
Its nice when the rotors are nice and shiny, lol.

Hopefully I can get this done for myself and Tom.

That's enough for both axles, and a little extra incase I get parched.

Hey jmark-
The only PITA is getting to the driverside rear bolt/nut. You gotta use a crazy assortment of swivels and extensions to get back there and then its a few turns at a time. Slow going and a bit o a knuckle buster. Otherwise PB blaster is your freind. Some people clearance the pockets first others let the arms bash the metal down. I went the later and due to the bashing have nicks in the underside of the arms. Not the greatest when you just paid 400 bucks for some red shiny metal parts. JBA has directions on their site on the clearancing. Good luck and post a pic when your done.
