Day tripping or staying up there? I haven't been to Okemo in a long time! Might be game.

Okemo is definitely a TRIP for one day.
Maybe I'll fly in from Burlington. Only two hours from there. Three from Boston.

Wish I could but can't that weekend. I was up at Mt. Snow last weekend - sadly I was stuck in Brooklyn for 3 days before the plows got here and when they did those got stuck! So I was up there well after the storm. The conditions were good but the trees were still too thin to be safe, very disappointed about that.

There's another storm that will get here on Fri/Sat. Right now they are saying it’ll be an ocean storm with a small chance of repeat of last week. However, I’d keep an eye on it and maybe think about checking out a resort a bit further east in NH. Either way have fun.

If you’re too tired for a same day trip home there’s a really cheep Super 8 or Motel 6 or something like that in Brattleboro, VT just off of ex 2 on 91. When I say cheap I mean use a sleeping bag and don’t let your skin contact anything.

You still heading up? I can't go 5th & 6th. Maybe when the snow starts flying on the 7th? But 4.5 hours is a long day trip IMO.
Going to Windham tomorrow with a buddy if interested. Leaving the QB 6:30AM.

Yeah, still going just bought a new board today, 2009 Burton Fix 162cm with a set of 2011 Burton Mission EST Bindings all for $375, yeaahh got the hook up flowing lol.

But yeah, im leaving NY tonight around 10pm and heading to CT. Then tomorrow morning leaving at 5:30am for Okemo. No clue where we are staying, a buddy invited me so all I know is 30$ lift tickets each day is all I gotta pay for!

maybe we can plan a trip for Saturday/Sunday?

Hmmmmm, ski trips are my favorite. (even before whelln) Im in NEPA and do most of my sliding here. 30 bux a day? Id camp in the jeep for big mountains and a cheap lift. Nice.

Do you slide anywhere up in NY? Been meaning to plan a trip that way.. day or otherwise. Any recommendation on mountain(s)?

I work for a very high end Ski and Snowboard retailer(VIP Shop) so we can ski alot of places for free and if they aint free, its like 30$

Mountain Creek is where I will ride alot this season, I am just getting back into it after a 4-5year hiatus. All depends how far you wanna drive.

Alot of us NE's ride

haa yup Kieran, 30$ and free at most places.

On day 1 of 3 of snowboarding , I feel like I was involved in a car accident. I rode the new board today and im almost pretty sure the bindings are set wrong( or not to my level). The edges were wayyyy to sharp was catching edges all the timee. Got a file and a screw driver, and some beers :5SHOTS: after dinner its tune up, or tune down time.

Great riding today though, about 32 degree at the base and pretty windy at the summit.
Snow conditions: Packed; Some Ice patches, No glade trails open.

Riding on Friday should be amazing.

Still jealous. You boarders don't intimidate me though. Theres no where you go or off that I wont try first ;)

As far as over sharp edges, I road the same 185 Salomons for years (love them) and let some ( * )
sharpen ANND wax, instead of just wax. Not good on the east coast, all this base ice I had to sand em down....

but alas, I will watch for more of these great deals but if you see an over zealous skier woosh past you
I may have made it out of NE PA.

Break a leg dude, good times ahead.

Hey! Hey! Original Skiier! I just work at a skishop so I said eff it and bought one just to have and rock in the terrain park. I rock Volkl Vertigo G2's awesome, Skiing is so different for me, I want my skis waxed and edged, just like my skates, but this board man, I catch an edge and eat it , its not fun lol

Gotta detune it and see how that fairs. MUCH better and more confident on skis after being a hockey player. Will always be a true skier!
