Wont be able to do this Saturday. Me and the misses have to stop by Benny's place to check the wedding proofs. From what I've heard the beaches wont be open on the opening day April first because of the erosion. Anyone stopped by field 5 lately? Last time I stopped by was with Jeff and Benny and there was a 5' drop in the entrance to the beach

I'm interested in getting one of these stickers but i have a few questions..

1. requirements, found a website of with all of the LI requirements. The sticker is a fishing access offroad pass, so you have to carry some sort of fishing pole with you, right?

2. anyone care to make up a quick list of what they use for the requirements? I have a tow strap(stretchy yanking ones), going to pick up one of the foldable shovels. Im gunna toss a 3 foot long 4x4 and a 2x4 with a bottle jack into the trunk along with a tire pressure guage. Probably will put a little compressor into the trunk too for good measure.

The only thing im not sure of what to get, is fishing equipment, and a toilet

lol yea as funny as it may sound you do need a toilet. I got one of These from the Richard's sporting goods right off route 110 on sale for 14 bucks. I just store it under the back seat. Some people use a 5 gallon bucket with a garbage bag.

Now on the fishing equipment you just need a pole and a reel. I decided to pick my first pole up at walmart and it came with every thing, tackle box and all for 45 dollars but them I started getting into fishing and picked up an ugly stick rod.

Oh and one last thing. The air compressor...
You can pick one of These up at pep boys. They connect to the battery and are a lot faster then the ones that connect to the lighter. Make sure its the 1050 for truck tires and you'll be fine.
If your planning on fishing your also going to have to get a Mariners fishing license. Thats only 10 bucks and can be picked up at a sports authority. Speaking of that I have the day off tomorrow and I'll be getting mine tomorrow.

a basic list:
Boards to put under the jack
Jack
Rod
shovel
strap
toilet
compressor for the beaches that don't have air stations
tire pressure gauge

See ya out there!

OK. SO we are down for next Saturday? I'm good for it.
When the heck is Dean going to be back from his Eurotrip? Will he return?
It's weird when they make you carry all the gear but no one ever checks. But it is peace of mind to have some recovery stuff anyways.
You can also get the permits online:
http://www.dec.ny.gov/permits/28941.html
click purchase sporting permits and select Mariners Permit.
I'm ready with mine, just gotta see when they are going to open those beaches after this crazy winter!

Well since I finally got some down time from work I can meet any day of the the week.

I'm planning on taking a ride out to field 5 and see whats left of the beach during the week and may be getting the permit this coming Saturday.

Anyone up for this Saturday?
