So i live in Nassua county now and usually get the Robert moses blue beach pass for $60 and drive onto Gilgo (when it was actually open) and Sore Thumb, BUT I'm moving to Suffolk county and am wondering if i should get that other beach pass that people stick on their front bumpers, i believe you can get onto more beaches with that, does anyone on here know the difference between these?

Cant wait till it gets warmer to drive up on these beaches, i never go to regular beaches where you actually park in a parking lot anymore

I usually get the 4x4 fishing permit. Its good for a hand full of beaches but the ones I mostly go on are Demo and Sore Thumb which are the closed to me. So far 8 of us got the 4x4 fishing permit which is a paper that gets tossed on your dash.

Jeff (LI-KJ) with be more helpful since he has the 4x4 fishing permit and the outer beach pass.

I bought the Suffolk County outerbeach permit. It allows access to several parks from Smith Point, Cedar Beach, Cupsouge, and Montauk. Smith Point has the most mileage
And you can take Burma Rd, or the oceanfront (when it's low tide, and no plover nesting) down to Moriches Inlet. You need to be a resident of Suffolk and have a Green Key card ($25 and good for 3 years, also gets you reduced parking fees for all county parks and allows you to make reservations for camping and other activities). The outerbeach permit is then $93 and you permanently attach it to your bumper, no magnets! You also need pretty much all the gear you need for the state beaches in your vehicle. But I usually roll solo out east as everyone has the state permits. Look for some of the summer beach runs we do. I haven't caught a thing but other guys have has more luck. It's always a good time!
