Hey guys, curious if anyone has thought about a 4.7 swap from a dodge half ton. It sounds interesting to me, not sure how doable it is or not. Any thoughts? |

Any thing is possible with enough time, money, and bolts. Here is a Thread of a member that decided to drop in a 302 small block . viewtopic.php?f=59&t=53462 |

was thinking about it when my engine blew but, too much $ and fabricating. Would be sick to have more power but, youll have to do some cutting and piecing to making it work, not to mention getting the right harness etc. Sad to say but if you really want to have more engine options/mods the liberty isnt gonna be the way to go. |

I'm lookin for a few details as to what it would take. The article I read said in theory if you have the same year motor as the jeep with the right tranny it should be fairly simple. I honestly don't know how much truth that statement holds though. It also said the motors "should" be able to use the same motor mounts but he didn't have exact measurements for their location. He did say though that the weight difference in the two motors isn't enough to put the mounts is jeopardy. I priced the motor already, for a used motor with 33k on it I'm looking right around 2k, and it also has a pretty decent warranty. |

you have to get new mounts thats a definite. Thats a good deal on a motor, mine was a 1700$ rebuild with about 50k on it. Its gonna run you upwards of $5k to get it in right. I had asked these same questions when contemplating mine lol. If you have the $ go for it |

Lol right now its looking like another thing to add to the "someday" list, unless anything changes. Wish I knew more about it, as far as what would definitely need changed or what can stay. It'll be cool having the only v8 lifted libby around |

That'd be great, thanks. Saving for the swap is gonna have to wait, passenger cv and inner shaft arent getting along too well. When it breaks, upgrade |
