Its a cheap radio so the price is okay. It should work fine for trail use. They call it a base...it isn't. About all you would need for trail use is an antenna.

It'll work just fine for trail rides and it's kinda small, so you can tuck it away nicely. the above post should have you on your way to being part of the cool kids!
over N out...

For use in a jeep liberty,it is perfect size,i have one installed in mine, and im satisfied, small enough, and reception is good as any 4 watts cb,if you have a good antenna obviously. Of course its not a high end cb,pretty basic compared to my cobra 29ltd,but the cobra is a monster,so no room for that in my libby! You might want to get an antenna tuner to make it work perfectly,or might have a friend who can do it for you,but for a 35$ cb it does its work

P.s. i paid 44.99$ in a store last summer,so the price is ok!

I just purchased a CB myself and was looking for something compact. I'm glad I went to local Fry's store and they had a few CBs.

Ended up going with the Pro520XL, http://www.frys.com/product/448026?site ... IN_RSLT_PG

I originally wanted something with weather band, and was going to get this http://www.frys.com/product/448136?site ... IN_RSLT_PG

But when I looked at the size at the store, it's the same as the standard size CBs. Not nearly as "Compact" as some websites indicate.
