Fordyce (spelling??) Info and trail run?

Anyone ran Fordyce (spell?)? How hardcore is it? Are there many trail options, from easy to impossible? A guy I know is going up there this weekend to test his new trail rig and I have never been and am interested in maybe going out there this summer. Thanks for any info. Maybe if it isn't too much for us KJers we could get a run together or something.

I had hard that there were quite a few different levels of trails out there but it seems to be way gnarlier than I heard. Some say it is harder than the Rubicon because of less bypasses on obstacles. :twisted:

Sounds fun, but I am obviously not equipped to run it yet. I was hoping someone could get on here that has run it and fill me in on what it is like. I was really hoping to get a run going out there but that looks like a no go pretty much. Thanks for the links Daspes.

Man, he must have a built rig to make it out there. That will be the goal for me when I finally decide what kind of ride I want to build up. Fordyce capable. In one of the videos on youtube, there was a guy in a tricked out tj that, instead of RUBICON, had FORDYCE on the side of his hood. Very cool looking and it appears to me to be a tougher trail than the almighty rubicon. I do know that there are some crazy spots on the ruby but man, some of the videos on fordyce look truly impossible. :twisted:

I just did fordyce with a couple guys on ATV's, with our liberty we could probably have gotten 2 or so miles into the trail with bypasses. We took it to mile 5 or so and it was quite the ride and some of the obstacles were just plain silly. We had ATV's going over every which way. Eagle lakes off of Fordyce would be a fun trip. let me know I'll go up with you, but don;t plan on getting too far, unless body damage is ok with you (its not with my wife). We saw a ton of custom built buggies and a few lifted wranglers. I have done some of the Rubicon, but nothing like fordyce, it has a lot of off camber situations very tippy with a few cliffs. Absolutely beautiful country out there, probably one of the most amazing places, i put it right up with yosemite, colob canyon, or any other amazing vistas. If you have a 4wd atv you could have alot of fun, prepared to be beat up though.

So did you ride a quad on the trail? I have a 660 Grizzly that would be fun out there. I know my KJ isn't equipped to tackle the trail yet but I am still considering going out just to see how awesome of a trail it is. I've never done the rubicon before either. I want to give it a go (at least part of it) when I get my rear locker in. :twisted:

As far as body damage being OK... undecided to be honest. I know my my wife wouldn't like it but it is my jeep. So...

the more I look at this trail the more I want to run it. I know it is way over my head, but man, it looks like fun. Is there any way to get around the water crossings? Those are insane. :twisted:

My father took his 660 and it was great. A guy had a ranger that worked well. The atvs are tough cause they are so short and no articulation but you can get over most stuff. Let me know if you go, i might go up again. You will enjoy it.

Cool thanks, I still wanna take my kj and see what the trail is like after I get the locker. I know I won't be able to do much of anything on it but never hurts to try at least not too much.
