Rock Lizard - the super slider - should have them in about a month

Is there a tentative date set yet?

I don't think so. I know the only date mentioned was by Ken and it was around labor day or something, but not sure if it was for this run or if he was doing it with other guys or what. :?:

I'm good for anytime, pretty much, except the last 3 wks of Oct.
Should have the rock rails by end of Aug. and will try them out here - plenty of trails real close :D
Looking forward to more runs

I will hopefully have the new mods done to my rock rails by tomorrow. Much stronger and better able to do their job.

06, did you check the junk yard? I know there were 3 KJs there last I went IIRC. Not sure if any had rock rails but worth a try. They aren't as beefy as the aftermarket ones but they do their job and protect until you can upgrade.

It's only money - get the good ones

Or if you do find the cheap ones at the junkyard, I can show you how to make them better like I am doing to mine.

Either way, better to have than to have not.

Well, I just cut off the round bars that are the part of the rock rails on my KJ. I am keeping the mounting arms to mount them to the new bars I am getting tomorrow. I am going to beef everything up. You are welcome to the old round bars.

Do you know how to weld? If you do, you are welcome to try and fab your own. And you can buy some more square bar to make the mounting arms out of or something. They might work for the time being if you are truly desperate and if you do it right. Do you have the mounting locations already in your subframe or would you be making new mounting locations?

Well, you can go to ALL J/boulderbars or rocklizardfabrications and check out their versions to get you an idea of what to do.

I have the pinch weld bar added already and I am going to be mounting the square gusset bars like the RL ones for side to side strength. I am just going to be running square tubing like the All J ones only they will stick out far enough so you can use a hi lift on them. I'm not sure how far the All J ones stick out to be honest.

I mean, the boulder bars are really the simplest design out there. Pretty easy to copy. I might have almost all the metal you'd need to make the boulder bars with my left over round bar from my stock ones. They are slightly bent from abuse on the trails but still in usable shape for sure.

Check out these and see if you want to make them or just pony up the dough for the real deal. Don't buy new Mopar ones, not worth the money, but if you found them really cheap off a junk vehicle somewhere they'd be worth it. Let me know if you want my leftovers.

Hold onto your spare parts for awhile. When the welders at work get here I am going to ask them if they would weld if I pay for materials :) Hope they buy into it :P
